    ammoniumcobaltsulfate-6-hydrate forms beautiful mixed crystals with ammoniummagnesiumsulfate-6-hydrate with any ratio of Co to Mg possible. so one can grow slightly pink crystals to deep red crystals or a dark crystal in a clear almost colorless crystal like with potassium alum and chromium alum. Keep up the god work !To bad that my Russian language skills are just rudimentary but your English is well understood ! I would like to speak Russian in the same quality.

    Is it possible to grow a crystal in different types of solutions like Mohr's Salt for 1 week and the next week you use the Mohr's Salt crystal in a different solution like a Alum salt solution?
    So that way you can get a multi layered/multi colored crystal?

    • @duchongle170
      @duchongle170 3 роки тому +1

      I think you cannot. First if you put your Mohr's salt crystal in a solution of alum it will dissolve. Second, Mohr's salt and alums does not crystallize in the same structure (if I am not wrong the Mohr's salt is monoclinic and the alums are cubic), so the two stuff are unlikely to be attached to each other.

      you can't change the shape. it takes the form of the salts 3D crystal lattice structure which comes naturally. If impurities are present, shape could be altered but might compromise the crystal.

    • @silverseth7
      @silverseth7 8 років тому +1

      Basically, the easiest way to change the shape is to change what it's made of. Usually that would require it being a different colour, but from what I've seen the process of a lot of these salt crystals isn't much different from one another. This one had the caveat of not touching it with bare hands.
