A good family fun short break. Great plan of daily activities so you won't be short of things to do. Good value. Food was OK. Loved Guys Burger and the Pizza + Deli. Value 9/10. Food 6/10. Service 7/10. Activities 8/10. Enjoy! It was better than I was expecting! B

I did Carnival Splendor Sydney to Noumea and Lifou island to Sydney. 26th of April to 6th of May 2024, this was when there was a mass search for a 22 year old male that went overboard on P&O Pacific Adventurer in 5-6 metre swells and 50-60 km winds. Got into Sydney at around 10:30am when it was meant to be 6:30am. Some people say cruise ships ain’t for them but I’d say I’d go on another one.

I thought this was a great review! Especially someone who has never been on a cruise before and doing the same next weekend. I feel like i have a pretty good idea of what to expect and the kids enjoyed seeing what they are in for. Also love you showed the entertainment shows etc. Really informative and much appreciated!

Aft is a direction, stern is the place, the back end of the ship. You head aft to get to the stern. Same with forward and bow.

A number of reasons. The course is one you all follow each other with controlled design and controlled speed. Staff were really rude. Just boring af

Thanks for your comment. Glad you liked it and you’ll have a fantastic time on Splendor. Good sized ship with great staff and fun activities. Very down to earth. Quad bikes were poorly Maintained. Basically you just follow each other from start to finish. Might as well tie them together and pull them. Absolute boring and yes rude staff. Don’t waste your money. Enjoy the water instead!

So on Morton Island it drops you off at the resort? You don't have to be a guest to be on the property? Is it possible to enjoy the resort facilities while there?
No you can’t use the resort facilities. You can only access the island and it’s a pay per item you use.
Do they allow you to use the beach?
Watched it before making a booking and now I feel like I don't need to go

I know you said "save your money" for the quad bikes, but I'm wondering if we had different experiences. We didn't do the beach, but we went up the back and through dunes etc, fanging around those. It lasted about 45min. This was only last Wed 18 Oct 2023. I did book via the cruise line, P&O in this case, and it cost me $80. Otherwise this was a good review of the Carnival Splendor, as we are considering it for our next cruise, and you review has helped us decide it might be the line for us, offering more than P&O did.
I’ve done P&O and I found Carnival much better. Had a great experience. The activities, food, performances. I’m trying an 11 night in December on Brilliance of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. Definitely try Carnival. I have another three Carnival Splendor booked for 2024/2025 and an Ovation of the Seas in Jan.

No there’s no customs on Australian only travel. You will need to provide a valid govt id with photo. B

I’m doing this cruise end of November as a sampler. We are planning a 11 day to NewZealand next year.
A few questions :
*How soon can you enter your room from when you board ?
*Can you book your breakfast time as soon as you board or the night before ?
*Do you really need the App ?
*We are only taking a Carry On bag, can you take it on board ?
*Drink pricing ,is it reasonable? Beers , Cocktails , Water ?

Great cruise. Lots to do, lively crew, mostly Philippino and Bali.
Room entry is officially 2pm.
On the app will be the main dining room reservation. Breakfast can be booked any time but the earlier the better as it fills up quickly.
Luggage gets dropped off early. No issue with carry on. Just take it with you.
Spirits $14, cocktails $16/$17, beers are $7-$9.50 for imported or craft. Wide selection of beers. I have the full list. Water just take a water bottle and fill it.
Tipping: I gave my cabin attendant $50, my wait and drink staff $20 each.
Tips: play pokies and get to 1000 points quickly and get free drinks for the entire cruise. It cost me $80 in losses over two days to hit the 1000 points.

Last night we paid in full and was able to choose the dining preference, we did choose early 5,30pm
I’m guessing we don’t need the App if we have booked dining and no need for WiFi for a short cruise. We will just upload our pics when we get home.

Tipping the crew 🤙
We just got back from 15 days on Hawaii ✈️ and the majority of restaurants required tipping. Some bills had a Kitchen fee on them and we asked a Server about the tipping. He said the Tips $ are usually broken down , the server gets the most , then 1% to a different job and 2% to another.
We did notice the bigger restaurants worked like this. There was a person at the desk to ask for a table, then a different person took you to the table, then a Server would take your order and a different person would bring your food. A bit over kill with all these jobs,We then explained to our Server that here in Sydney , you would do all of them jobs and no tipping.
We will treat this 4 day cruise as a bare bones cruise , have a few drinks but not go stupid

I know they are still require a Negative Covid test.. What all do you need do for the home test? We leave in 2 weeks
Simply do a home test 24 hours beforehand. They don’t check but they will ask you if your result was negative. They also will ask to see your green vaccination status. That’s it.

Great video I Have been on 5 cruises before this, went on the splendor February it wasn’t to bad for a 4 night cruise comedians were really good at the punchliner, food was good in the main dining room steak for dinner and the pizza was nice unfortunately the room smelled like smoke and the buffet missed the mark for me especially at breakfast and same for the main dining room the toast arrived 5 minutes before the eggs complete joke.thought on the whole it wasn’t a bad cruise, but I would say the likes of Norwegian and royal Caribbean are better it’ll be interesting as to how it compares to my upcoming 1 week p and o cruise on the pacific encounter I will say the quad bike tour wasn’t that bad in all honesty, the one tour I would avoid is the dolphin feeding experience biggest scam out firstly one staff member will say grab one fish and share as there isn’t enough dolphins once more arrive your told you can grab one each by someone running it then they say you should only have one then they yell at you as the dolphin runs into you biggest money spinner at $150 each so avoid that for sure for anyone considering that tour.
Had to shut it off after a few minutes. Word of advice: don't swing the camera around so much, if at all. Long slow shots and stills are best. Great camera though! Crystal clear. Just remember that fast movements can be nauseating to some, especially when watched on large screen TVs. Splendor was a great ship, did it to Alaska August 2022.
