People today are unbelievable! The utter disrespect for people's lives. I hope the puppies are found. What kind of evil monster would do such a thing?😢
I wish they didn't release the fact these puppies were already chipped. These people might kill them knowing that the puppies can be traced back to them.
IF they actually take them to a veterinary doctor. People just need to stop breeding animals and stop buying from them. It is inhumane to breed dogs and cats for profit.
If they’re responsible owners, yes. It makes no sense to steal puppies that will get flagged if they try to register them for whatever pedigree they go through as well. Meaning if these evil people try to sell these puppies as pedigreed the new owners will soon find out when they try to register them. If they were stolen without that paperwork, their value goes down so the whole thing just sounds too weird to me.
Just because the breeder could sell them for 4500$ doesn't mean that the thief can't sell them for 500$ registered or not. They are basically free because they don't have the parents needs to look out for and all the medical stuff on the pups to pay for. Even at 500$ each it is all profit on 20 purebred pups. The thief could also forge registration and sell them for say 2700$ and many owners may not be interested in breeding/showing the dogs so the papers will never be verified...
This is horrible. How terrible. I will never understand the evil in this world. I will say, it'd be helpful if this report actually gave some substance or details on the exact circumstances here though. Nothing was even mentioned about the killing itself.
@@daphne1079Not all dogs in the shelter are for families. Many have behavioral issues (due to past owners that are very challenging to train out). If you purchase from a ETHICAL breeder, there is a big chance that the temperament and health of the dog is better
Adopt if you want but some people prefer to know what there buying, what it’s family health is like as well as parents temperament. Not all that can be learned if you adopt however stricter rules need to be enforced in the dog breeding community, And dog owner ship for that matter.
@@gizzmowallisswe have quite a few rules in the preservation breeding community. And each breed club also sets rules for breeding. I thought the same thing. I've lost 4 dogs and 2 cats in 3 years all to old age, the last one in Sept last year. I know some people must replace a lost animal immediately to fill the void, and I dont fault them, but I can't.
I have a gorgeous red Euro dobe, now 8, he came from super $$ dam & sire, but they sold them at a reasonable price, $1700. This is very sad...poor guy, poor pups
How about describing the suspects instead of making this a human interest story? Start telling people who the people are who did this instead of making a joke over it.
I remember back in the 80' s, when I was buying a doberman, it was unheard of for a doberman, registered with papers or not to cost over 300 bucks! These were good quality puppies too. Now you can't find get adopt a puppy or an adult dog for that matter from an animal shelter for that price. Half breeds will cost you four to five thousand at a pet store. Over priced. Whatever the cost though, no person should ever have lost their lives for trying to sell a puppy.
That's about $1200 in today's money. I know breeders who would do a limited registration puppy for $1500. So the pricing isn't out of line at all for full registered show pup.
@@nicholasbarth114 right, I didn't take that in consideration. I think $ 1200 is a reasonable price for a puppy that is registered. $3000 to $5000 however, is like way over priced in my humble opinion.
@rogerjames4384 unfortunately with the inbreeding that goes on within the breed, buying a puppy without OFA certs on hips, elbows, etc.....is all too risky. I've been down the road of bargain priced puppy followed with vet bills larger than if I'd just gone with more expensive puppy that was already OFA certified. And those certifications aren't cheap. But they're well worth the upfront costs imo.
While I too believe in adopting, this man was a reputable breeder. My sister had three Dobermans through the years, and even bred her female once. She kept one of the puppies, and the owners of the male dog she was bred with took one, and my sister had requests before they were even born. She didn’t want to be a professional breeder, just wanted one litter. My guy and I had a beautiful lab/awesome mix, that was adopted, that sadly we lost last year. Best dog in the world. We also have a beagle, which came from his sister, a breeder.
Some people want a purebred dog with excellent genetics/health to lessen the chance of serious health issues later, and also a puppy that they can train right from the start. It's great to adopt, if that's what you're interested in, but often adopted dogs can't be re-trained and you also don't know their triggers. Don't tell people that "Dogs aren't things" and that's your reasoning for pushing adoption. No different than telling people they shouldn't be having their own children because there are so many needing good parents/families. Not everyone wants the same thing you do.
@@kellidinit3725 Exactly, reputable breeders make the entire difference. He not only bred 'Dobies', but he also showed them, and that's how he did the best to ensure his puppies' genetics were top-notch. The dam & sire would've gone through all kinds of testing before he bred them, for hips, often knees/elbows, heart, etc. , and the puppies would've been temperament tested. All that requires paperwork too, which the heart & soulless thieves likely didn't get and won't be able to produce. If someone is thinking of ear cropping the pups, they will have to go to specific vet clinics, as only some will still do elective surgeries on dogs like cropping ears, docking tails, and removing dew-claws. (It's something that is completely banned here in Canada, except for Toronto). All veterinary clinics and hospitals will be made aware of this situation and be very vigilant. Word ALWAYS leaks out and travels fast (especially when they'll be trying to sell these pups for quick cash and need to advertise, even by word-of-mouth). These a-holes made a HUGE mistake and very tragic and horrific act against this poor man. They will pay dearly, I have no doubt. They are vile, disgusting, and evil and deserve to rot in prison for what they've done.

FWIW, dog breeding is not a get rich quick scheme. Even 4k barely covers time and effort spent creating the perfect pup, much less food, shelter, and vet bills.
