      @@MichaelVenn I really love watching your videos! I’ve learned so much. I have a question about TPR. Would it be worthwhile to make a visual of the common TPR gestures and have that posted in my classroom for students to refer to? I would think that would also help them identify common English action words.

      Thanks! Educational TPR are things like “draw a circle” “draw a line”. Basically commands where the student has to take action in some way :)

    Hi we have a présentation and we are 6 person we chose 2 different topic. They are "daily routines" and "feelings" we have 3 activitiy for each topic. I will tell and act a short story which inside feelings. Is it suitable? What do you think ? thank you ❤

      I usually either model with my puppet or get extra silly and expressive myself. If that doesn’t work, I just keep teaching. Some kids aren’t into the TPR stuff and I try to allow for that type of learning to occur as well 🙂

    I'm an English teacher in Bangkok, Thailand, teaching nursery and kindergarten. In January I'm starting my bachelor of education here but until that time I'm trying to improve myself every day. I'm using TPR as best as I can but I'm struggling sometimes, for example with the topic fruits. How would you use TPR when talking about fruits?

      I’m not sure if it technically count as TPR but I would use a prop or picture to illustrate the fruit and perhaps mime eating it

      I think there are a bunch of videos on UA-cam that talk about specific gestures for TPR. That’s where I’d begin my search 🙂

    Hi Michael,
    It seems that you are teaching standing up. What type of table do you use for teaching standing up? I wanted to see if I can teach sitting and standing by having a chair that I can have higher and a higher table. I find sitting all the time is not very good for my legs.

    Another thing I'd like to be able to know is how to set up my background completely digital. Also, do you know if we'll have a Canadian training at some point? It seems that everything is in the States.

      I’m sorry but I don’t know anything about digital backgrounds. And I’m not sure what you mean about “Canadian training” - the training is the same for everyone regardless of where they live

    Hey Michael, I just applied and unfortunately my application was rejected. I have a TEFL certificate so I was expecting that I would at least get to do a demo; is that normal? Can I reapply later?

      @@rileydlynch you might have to apply with a different email address. Be very careful this time to make sure that you highlight your teaching experience and every box is checked correctly. I have had friends who were rejected because they accidentally made mistakes when they were first applying. If you have a bachelor's and teaching experience, you generally will get an interview. Good luck!

    Just be careful not to be too much of a clown or draw out the action for too long. Some cultures are quick to classify such behavior as 'nuts'. So never go over the top with the actions.

      By the way, I am also Teacher Michael- except I am a female. I've have one student who refuses to call me Michael he calls me "Michelle" he was 4 years old when I met him. He said, "Michael is for boys." Hahahaha Most students just say "Teacher."
