Rode A&B loops on 7/5 for the first time in 5+ years. Despite the heat I had a great time. Fountainhead is one of the best MTB trails in the DC area. Thanks for the great video - may have to challenge myself to clean the raised obstacle section next time.
Thx to lots trees it’s relatively pleasant to ride even in high temp. Never too late to get into or get back into MTBing! Good to hear you had fun out there, see you out on the trails🤙🏼
I didn't find this at fountain head last time, I ended up going thru a trail that runs thru bull run, didn't finish it, but would love to run these trails on my hardtail, looks smooth and flowy. Is this further on the park? should'nt have gone at the first parking lot I saw.
There are two separate trails at Fountainhead, both accessible from main parking lot. You took the BROT trail which until few years back was only for hiking. The main trail is on opposite side, gated entrance, for MTBing only and it’s the best designed, built, popular MTB trail in northern VA.

MTB trail entrance is on the left. you’ll see big parking area on the right. You can also access BROT trail from there. It is about half way from main park entrance before marina. It is for MTB only, no hikers. After rain, call the hotline to confirm Trail is open before heading out.
