Chosen Few was initially a solo project by François Prijt (DJ Chosen Few). In 2008 he entered into a collaboration with producer Bastiaan de Waard. Since then they have been producing together under the name Chosen Few.
In the mid-eighties, Prijt became acquainted with the electro music genre. After his parents bought him a Commodore 64, he started making music with it. In the beginning this was mainly hip hop and drum 'n' bass. In 1989 he also bought his first Technics SL1200 turntables.
At the end of 1991, Prijt started playing hardcore and became the resident DJ of a small club (Amnesia/Hotel Kabul) in Amsterdam's Red Light District.
After a performance with DJ Dano and The Prophet in Austria, Prijt was booked at major parties at home and abroad and could be heard in Berlin (MayDay), Zurich (Energy Rave), Scotland (Resurrection) and at other major performances. in Italy, Russia, America and Australia. Highlights in the Netherlands were Thunderdome, Ghosttown, the Dominator Festival, Mindcontroller, Decibel Outdoor 2006, Pandemonium, Hard Bass, Masters of Hardcore and many Hellraiser parties in the Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam.
DJ Chosen Few released more than a hundred tracks on labels such as Mokum Records, Bzrk Black Label, RNO Records, Megarave, Spleen Kick Records and H20H Recordings.
In 2005, Prijt founded the record label Elite Hard Core, which he wanted to use to give young talent the opportunity to make their work known to the hardcore audience.
Chosen Few's style is a combination of techno, ambient, hip hop, hardcore and a lot of experimentation with sounds.
