The single got hardly any airplay in my area. Only one station where it received lite play. The video wasnt in rotation much either. WB did ZERO promotion for the song/ album. The album had already been out a couple weeks before I knew it existed!
ck was my first Chaka Khan album and I loved it from top to bottom! Baby Me should have been huge too. And I was mesmerized by and obsessed with The End of a Love Affair.
@@maxtheknife The video and album received mild airplay in Europe (UK), where Chaka was living at the time...that's when the "Life Is A Dance" Remix Project starts to take form...off that 1989 album came out as a single an offenly underrated remixed version of "I'm Every Woman" far better than the original one and rarely known in the US market...

Shame to say I never heard this one before. Sounds like. Bobby Womack in the background. Love how Chaka does her own background vocals. Sort of like a signature for her. The riffs at the end of the song are everything.

They actually recorded the original version for this song with a reggae vibe and then offered Chaka the chance to re-record the song (cover). Chaka had just relocated to Europe to get away from her dark demons then but sadly Warner Bros didn't promote CK album properly and this was a minor hit...

This Song Song Always Hits Different From The Rest And I Love It
In my opinion this is one of the more underrated efforts of Chaka’s career. One of the best songs most have never heard of. Chaka ranks in the top 5 all time best female vocalists, along with Gladys, Aretha, Mavis Staples and Martha Reeves
