    This was a really good explanation of how ND filters can really change what you're shooting I liked it!
    For my right now I would use the heck out of the for timelapses myself and for the documentary I'm shooting.
    I'm shooting a doc about another person from my town who is rolling a 230 pound tire around that says "Cancer sucks" to raise awareness around cancer research, make connections with others in our community, and show a different way to get your workout on and stay fit. Sticking an action cam on his head with a ND filter to keep the light looking great while he rolls the tire would just take our project to the next level.

    I have Freewell ND filters and they do come in handy for the Osmo Action. Now if they could just fix the issues when shooting in 4k at 24 fps and 1/50th shutter speed. Man it can look horrible as it tries to implement Rock Steady at those settings. Nice time lapse!

So do you put the clear DJI cap back on, when you're not outside or do you just leave it off (unless you need the protection)? Hey guys, I am curious and cant seem to find an answer for this question. Most rules are for FF. So does the 180 degree rule adhere to apsc or does the crop factor need to be factored in. I ask this because when taking a rule for stills such as the reciprocal rule (min shutter is 1/focal length to prevent camera shake) the crop factor does need to be applied. Cheers

    • @dunnadidit
      @dunnadidit 4 роки тому +2

    Dunna! Buddy! Take it from someone who lost a GoPro Silver 4 after attaching it to my Jeep...and recovering it because of some honest hikers. Leash that thing down in addition to the suction cup. It will come off at some point. Also, if it comes off and strikes another car, cyclist, or pedestrian, it could cause a wreck or bodily harm. That being said, I got some cool video from the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado and also an offload trail...and even some cool video of the person who found my camera and left it in an obvious place for me. EVEN BETTER later that night I saw some hikers at a restaurant an hour away from the trail that I recognized driving past earlier and I asked them if they were the ones who found it?! They were! • @TaskForceMediaGroup
      @TaskForceMediaGroup 5 років тому

      Dunna Did It I believe Dji’s Rock Steady stabilization uses the shutter speed to assist with its stabilizing. I have experimented with and without ND filters. If I manually control the shutter speed I get a lot of jittery stuff happening in my footage. I mostly just leave the Osmo Action in auto mode and set a max iso of 1600. I recently tried using my ND filter while still leaving the Osmo Action in auto mode. It helped keep the shutter speed a little slower by fooling the camera. Only problem was it shot the iso a little higher than I would have liked. I may try setting the iso max much lower and see how that works.

    Hi Dunna! I just found this video...I want an action camera but not really for extreme sports...maybe some biking! but more for unique angles or sometimes for POV angles (using a headband attachment for example) and my "vintage" gopro hero 3 black is not cutting it anymore! Of course i have good cameras such as a Canon 90D or a sony a6400 but I want something really compact that is like a everyday camera-reliable, stable, no overheating (I won't record in 4k for hours! no but a few minutes at a time maybe) that i can use as a C camera etc...so I was thinking maybe the Osmo action (now with the latest firmware it has hyperlapse and the LCD screen lag has been improved I think) or the GoPro hero 8 (I don't care about the 7 at all)...I would like to get semi-cinematic shots that I can combine with footage from other cameras so dewarp or linear angles is a must and good stabilization. Another reviewer complained that the Osmo looks artificially oversharpened and that there is no setting to lower the sharpening intensity whereas the GoPro hero 8 has a setting to lower it...but some early reviews (hopefully only a few) of the hero 8 complain about overheating/lockups/corrupted files already...I was hoping the Hero 8 fixed the problems the 7 had (which I bought and returned last year)...what would you recommend? Just tell it like it is! Pls!
    thanks so much!

      Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to use the hero 8 yet, but I returned the hero 7 almost immediately and I’m quite happy with the osmo action.
