Transmission temperature fix. Greetings Brent. I have been following you since day one. I am an old mine explorer from back in the 70s. I live off grid on unplowed roads. The roads are very bad and require capable off road riggs. When you are having to pull a heavy load at very slow speeds there is not enough air flow to the transmission cooler. The answer to this is is put the truck in low range 1st gear. This will bring the engine speed up and cause the transmission to pump more fluid past the cooler. It seams counterintuitive but it will work. You have a real pioneer spirit my friend.
I remember your arrival in “slippers”. I remember the loss of the American hotel. And I have followed from the beginning your adventure which is now - remotely my journey. With many more people - volunteers and your viewers. Your video inspires me to take chances and not give up even with things don’t work out. There is always another way…thank you for your poetic voice and sincere love of history and preserving it. God speed. ❤
Brent - long term viewer from the start from the UK. I work as a Bridge Engineer undertaking engineering works to both existing and new bridge structures. I recently formed my own consultancy business and aspect of going outside my comfort zone is something I can really relate to especially in the need for reflection as creating something unique can bring immense pressure from within. Your words on reflecting have helped me centre myself and my thoughts and encouraged me to take time to look back and realise the success achieved and not worry about what hasn’t transpired yet. I thought the process of starting a business would help me grow and I feel it has in so many ways. Your channel and story has a lot of parallels to my journey in building a new business, highs, lows, set backs and achievements. Hope to come visit one day - just wanted to say thanks - this channel has been an important inspiration. Thank you for sharing - Darren
Dude, you're not even the same guy as that youngling from 2020. The look in your eyes, the way you hold yourself, and even the cadence in your voice is different. It's that personal discovery that the center of the universe is wherever you are standing right now. A fella can hear that said a million times, but there's a light that goes on inside when your soul comes to an awakening of it in yourself. Seems that light has flipped on for you.
Saludos desde Puenteareas, Feliz y próspero año nuevo, Happy new year 😊
Your history lessons are among my favorite episodes on you channel. In my youth I was generally either "living for today" or looking to the future, not much interested in the past. As I've gotten older (almost 70 now) I've found myself drawn to the more unusual sides of history, the events that are generally not found in history books. That, more than anything, is what keeps me coming back to your channel week after week. Your adventures are an added bonus. Thank you for your dedication.
In March of 2020, I retired after first doing 15 years in Law Enforcement and then 22 more years of nursing at the VA Hospital in West Texas. . Covid was starting to hit hard and , as a divorced 65 year old diabetic, I pretty much became a hermit. Learning how to face retirement is tough enough, not going to work every day, but then pretty much most socializing was not a good idea. I mostly kept to myself in isolation. I started following your vlog and it gave me many hours of pleasure watching you face and confront your own new life, and you were pretty isolated, too. You learned new skills, how to cope and problem solve, and you overcame some huge setbacks. Still continue to watch your endeavors, and very proud of what you have done with Cerro Gordo. It's been a great and exciting 4 years. Keep up the good work, stay safe and healthy, and may God bless you with a wonderful 2025! Happy New Year!
Got to hand it to you Brent. You've kept me engaged with your adventures since you began releasing videos. I am loving the Lidar survey work and hope you find a second access. Your Champion Spark Plug Mine was also one of my most memorable side trips of the year. Happy and safe New Year, sir. Worry about you crawling around alone.
I used to work for a Window and Door company in Manitoba, and they bought automobile glass for their windows. That glass was shipped on a freight truck with a special A-frame on the bed that held the glass. Some of it broke in transit, but it was amazing that they bought tempered automobile glass, which they claim is better because it is laminated, instead of float glass, which does not have a coating that would prevent breaking.
What you've transformed this town into is truly inspiring, Brent. I don't think there's many people out there who would be able and willing to do such a thing. This channel is one of the most amazing and wonderful things on UA-cam.
Absolutely this is my number one most watched UA-cam channel over the past four years. I eagerly look forward to every episode. I think if it wasn't for maybe over exposure history channel or discovery channel should pick this up for at least three seasons when the time is right And it was stimulate tourism.
Brent and the rest of the Cerro Gordo family - I hope you all have a wonderful New Year. I love what you do in Cerro Gordo, I live thousands of miles away but this little place just keeps me going when I am feeling down - I close my eyes and this little place in the mountains comes to me and welcomes me in to let me see all it has to offer. Although I won’t get to go there, Cerro Gordo is always in my heart. Thanks Brent and all the Cerro Gordo family for being there. Thanks for sharing this gem of a place with us all. xxx
Merry Christmas Brent! 🎅🏻🎄🎁⛄️ May 2025 be your best year yet. Cerro Gordo is back to life thanks to your vision and all the volunteers. Excited for the hotel grand opening and see you soon in 2025!
I have to say that bold working that younger you went on has paid far greater dividends than his comfort cost. There has been times these little videos showed a nearly defeated Brent, but the amount of times it has shown an excited nearly deliriously happy man has been inspiring over these last four years. God Bless you Brent Underwood and those who work with you to restore our past as to forget it is to forget ourselves.
I may be in a different country but have been here since the start. I am so proud of how far Cerro Gordo has come because of you, Brent, and all volunteers that have come and helped. I'm looking forward to 2025 and the new journey of getting the hotel done. Thanks for making us all feel a part of your home 😊
You seem and look healed inside out since the video of 2020. Words chosen and/or the speed of talk (and live) has calmed down and I wish your project to prosper and stay alive. All the best to you too for 2025 and beyond, Brent.
Brent, you're basically living off the grid with a few minor exceptions. The hard work you put into your mine will eventually be a great reward, I believe in a few short years you will be able to look back on all that you achieved with hard work and skill. Chasing a dream is never easy, but you, my friend, are the example of not quitting regardless of numerous setbacks. Go forward, Brent, in 2025 your reward awaits you! I see the light at the end of the tunnel you've come so far!
I've been captivated by your channel, and I can’t help but express my heartfelt gratitude for the beautiful glimpse you've given us into your life in Cerro Gordo. Your journey has inspired me deeply. As we stand on the brink of a new year, I want to extend my warmest wishes for joy and prosperity to you and all the incredible volunteers who stand by your side. Thank you for everything you do!
What you’ve accomplished with Cerro Gordo is nothing short of extraordinary! I can hardly contain my excitement at the thought of inviting others to experience its beauty or perhaps even organizing a photography competition. Just imagine standing under that breathtaking sky, gazing up at the Milky Way, untainted by light pollution. It would be absolutely mesmerizing!
Los Angeles takes water from the western water shed of the Rockies, and from Northern California. Some of the water feeding Mono Lake also was diverted to LA. It's amazing to see how so much water goes to a desert city with an insatiable appetite for water.
Well done Brent! It is refreshing to see you go through your journey! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all! To be included is an honour. You have grown exponentially since starting this project! It suits you! ❤🇨🇦
I ordered your book just after it was released and when I received my order my 92 year old mother wanted to read it first. So as of right now I still have not been able to read your book because my mother is still reading and rereading the book. She has stated that it is a fabulous book and she very much appreciated and enjoyed the book. Hopefully I will be able to read it next year. Thanks again and have a happy new year
On October 20th I stood in the middle of the night with my wife and kids and watched our home burn to the ground. It was the most traumatic and painful thing I have ever experienced. Watching the American hotel become a reality has become vastly more special to me. I watch in hope tonight and look forward to the next year when my own home will be rebuilt. Thank you Brent for your vulnerability, I have felt the way you did that morning you woke up to see a cherished building gone. I am so excited to see your dreams come to life! ❤🙏🙏🙏
My folks lost their home and seven generations worth of memories in the 2017 Northern California Fires. The health and other effects have been devistating. I'm sorry for your own loss; but you're right; watching Brent and his team bring the American Hotel back to life, is inspirational.
It's been a transformation for you. In so many ways you are not the same dude who first rolled in. Not many people could just jump in with both feet and manage to not just endure but thrive. Will be interesting to see the future.
Following you last 3.5 years and seen you standing up during the storms of life. This is a mighty dream, an ambitious project and you devoted your life towards it.
You’ve done a whole hell of a lot of stuff in the past 4 years. There have been setbacks along the way and you’ve tackled them and continue to learn and develop new methods to make Cerro Gordo a place of historical significance that is brought into modern times. I hope to come and stay at the rebuilt hotel, help lend my skills in any way possible to rebuild, reclaim or help maintain the town. Hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy new year!
Give us more of your Brentness. We need you re great entertainment at least twice a week Brent. Thanks a lot for all the hard work. Perhaps you could get some help with extra vids. You have truly planted the seeds of a beautiful monster Brent. We never know what will become from the efforts we put forth do we? So many love what you have single handily put in motion. So many love to be a part of your journey. You may have as many that the value lay in the precious metals Cerro Gordo. Little did we know the wonderful rise of interest in what you have started. The spirit of what you have released into being is certainly the true gem. Happy New Year Brent and carry on growing-- to the best that can be to you in the new year.
I've been following Brent since the beginning. The video you made in Austin and now shows how far you have come; it's just incredible and amazing journey. Seems like two different people. I think you have grown philosophically, spiritually, and emotionally. Have a great New Year 2025 and look forward to all the new experiences and adventures you will have. Thank you for sharing part of your life with all of us.
The clip of you on the couch trying to decide whether or not to go to Cerro Gordo on March 19th really caught my attention. March 19th is my birthday. In 2020 I turned 50. Thank you for the gift I never knew you gave me. Till now. I have watched all your videos and have a copy of your book. My Father and I are huge fans. I will continue to relish in your birthday gift to me. BIG LOVE!!!
I remember your first episode ever. I was there! I bought the board game and presubscribed for the two dollar token. I'm very happy with supporting you and Cerro Gordo, watching your content and updates. It makes me feel like I'm apart of the town. P.S. It must have felt like you didn't even quarantine through the pandemic while you were there, how awesome ;). Looking forward to more video updates!
I remember watching your first video of when you pulled up to Cerro Gordo. I remember them clips you presented from other videos. How fast time goes. Stay safe stay healthy
Brent, keep working to make your dreams for Cerro Gordo a reality. It's very inspiring to see the progress you've made and to think about what is still in store for you and Cerro Gordo!
The contrast between the start of your channel, just you and the dream, and now, the dream is taking place. I can't wait for the future of sero Gordo. An adventure, moments in time captured year by year.
Brent, I've been watching your adventure at Cerro Gordo since the beginning. Always look forward to your updates. You have to be proud of what you have accomplished there. Best of luck in your adventures in 2025... Mark
I love your channel, Brent - been following since the beginning and really looking forward to another year of your adventures in Cerro Gordo...best of luck to you in the new year!
Just wondering if you ever found the nature spring around mine number 22. I recall hiking with my dad and uncle back in the early 70s. We decided to take a dip to cool off.
Cerro Gordo called you. How incredible. It's hard to imagine the past 4-5 years without you, Cerro Gordo, the Silver Runs, and these videos. Here's to a great 2025 and all it has in store!
I love a good "recap". THIS journey of your has been a great inspiration to us all. Thanks so much for your hard work and the opportunity to see and expirence the true old west.
Appreciate everything you do Brent. It's rare to see such kind and wonderful people on the internet and since day 1 we have followed you on this journey, always believing in you. Keep being a positive and safe space for us to venture into when life isn't always the best. Looking forward to visiting Cerro Gordo when the hotel opens up. Here's to an amazing 2025!!
Brent In the beginning a dream was born And trials and tribulations came You Brent stuck with it Even though you probably didn't know how hard it was going to be You branched out and got a lot of help from people around the world And you stuck with it Some day into the future you'll be able to set back and look at the creation of your dreams No one said it would be easy My dream is that your dream comes true Thanks for being you Fireman 🔥🔥🔥👍
Hoping to make some plans to visit if I can. Been watching since the beginning and starting to believe in my own journey and growth rather than just a desk job.
This has been an amazing journey to watch. My girlfriend and I found you shortly after you started the channel and have been watching the last 5 years. Thanks for documenting the story. It’s a good one.
People all over the world, because of YOU, live vicariously via your UA-cam channel, every time you share your experiences. Highs and lows, where with you all the way, and like your wonderful volunteers, wish that we could join you all, roll up our sleeves, and share in the wonderful journey, in bringing Cerro Gordo, back to life.Happy New Year Brent.
@@stayreal4l284 Been watching Brent from the first episode. He's had many 'vendors' up at CG, some reliable, some not. This is the first time he named and shamed one--that 👎🏻 was unusual. His predicament--weather-sealing the American Hotel before the snow drifts piled up, affecting the structural integrity--hinged on getting those windows. His reaction is certainly understandable!
I fractured my pelvis in 2019 & by the end of January 2020 I was unable to walk anywhere without exaggerated pain. Then our lockups began which allowed me to rest the problem area. Oh what to do while resting? UA-cam filled the space especially when I came across Cerro Gordo. Thanks for memories worth every moment watching.
I’m currently reading your Ghost Town Living book. Love the extra details I’m finding out! You are an inspiration and I’m excited to keep up with whatever you’re doing in 2025 and beyond!
I still never get tired of the background music Brent, would still love an easy listening album to put on in the background, close my eyes and imagine being there overlooking that amazing view.
Congratulations onto you, Brent and all of the people making the dream happen. I wish there was more I as an individual could do to support you. We love all you’ve done and I’m so glad you share your journey with the world. Looking forward to 2025! Cheers🎉❤🙏
A happy and very blessed New Year of 2025 is prayed for you Brent!! May God bless you richly and abundantly! Awaiting new videos. Thank you for sharing your very interesting life!
Whilst some people don’t always appreciate what you have achieved (according to comments) I for one do. I wish I had half your passion and enthusiasm. The world would be a much better place. Happy New Year. Take care, keep safe and thank you. ❤ Dorset, UK
I loved your book, especially hearing you read it out loud. I think it was even more enjoyable cause I was familiar with various parts and characters from watching your videos all these years. Thx, Andrew
Long may the adventure continue! It'll be fun for you to someday look back onto your timeline and see how far you have come, how much you've expanded and gone deeper too. Happy New Year and all best wishes!
Been watching this channel like many others have and every video you bring out more history of the surrounding areas. 17:50 Maybe that's where one of the gold mines are located. 19:38 I see trees that lose their leaves in the fall and if there is continuous water in that valley some people could plant food there. Have you thought about installing solar panels around Cerro Gordo to help with the electricity demands? Even a few deep cycle marine batteries hooked up to Harbor Freight 18 volt solar panels could charge a laptop or cell phones. Nothing like sitting in an outhouse with a panel on the roof while you are doing your business, can charge a cell phone. Or plug in a laptop to charge while you're doing something on a laptop. Beats sitting there looking at a wood door. Keep being you Brent, you're getting there day by day and your videos are a trip back in time. Old Ghost town but with modern amenities. Thanks, from all of us!
Wow as a Hiker / Backpacker from the Oregon area what you share touches the excitement one experiences when in the remote parts of a Wilderness Experience! Love it . Thank you ,God Bless you ,and I hope to visit someday . Peace and Happy New year to you all.
Great video looking back on your year of accomplishments. I am truly amazed how much you have accomplished. I love that you showed all your outbuildings. You can definitely tell the work that you have done and how much better they all look. Thank you so much for sharing your life at Cerro Gordo with us. I would truly love to visit someday. ❤ Here’s to 2025! 🥂
Wow! I love it when you drop a surprise video. Amazing accomplishments, Brent! And I love the original music popping up in several places. I cannot wait to see what next year brings. Happy New Year! 🎉
I got your book for Christmas and have been watching since the beginning all the way from the Midlands, UK 🇬🇧 You are Cerro Gordo's heartbeat and I'm excited to see the American Hotel up and running, hopefully next year! I would love to visit one day!
You are amazing and such an inspiration. I've been watching you when I get notified abd it is awesome what you have accomplished. Hats off to you from Orangevale, Ca
Hey! I used to keep up a lot better with you before I had kids ,and you actually used to reply to me a lot on tik tok, but anyways every video I do get to see of everything that’s been happening is awesome I really love to progress you have made it’s amazing truly. You and the people around you have really done an amazing thing
Hi Brent! I think I write something similar every time but thank you for these videos and for bringing history back to life. This is such a welcome break from the everyday world to watch these videos. And I would give anything to come up there and volunteer someday. Right now I'm working on my health but I'd love to come up there when you get the hotel built and even volunteer as a room cleaner! You're a wonderful man and you're beautiful soul is just reassuring these days.
Absolutely loved the book! Listen to it twice now! Something I will keep coming back to. I think it was the right move to record it with your own voice! Thank you for sharing
So inspiring! I appreciate how you always showcase the area and share something new. I'm curious how many videos are you working on at any given moment? It seems like you always have 4 or 5 irons in the oven. That discomfort has made you better and enriched so many! Thank you sharing and for the inspiration.
Thanks for the history lessons, tag alongs and all the entertainment you have provided me from the start of your adventure, I have so enjoyed. Best wishes for the New Year, looking forward to much more.... You are indeed a rich man... Take care and stay safe, till the Next !⛏⚒⛏
Brett, I have been watching since the "early" days. Less than 5 years ago! I pre-ordered the hardback copy of Ghost Town Living, even though I 99.9% prefer my Kindle. I felt a strong need to hold your book, as those in the 1800's would have read. I took my time reading. I commented at the time that your depth of wisdom, self-awareness, passion for bringing lost history to life, etc., is very impressive. I am elderly & disabled & think that one day. I still could make it to Cerro Gordo & the American Hotel. Many blessings for the coming year. I am finding HOPE to focus on, vs. becoming overwhelmed with, "2025." Looking forward to Cerro Gordo adventures. Please may we meet your animals this winter? I discovered Sy Montgomery's books. You might enjoy one or 2. I read, What The Chicken Knows. Quite wonderful.

My folks lost their home and seven generations worth of memories in the 2017 Northern California Fires. The health and other effects have been devistating. I'm sorry for your own loss; but you're right; watching Brent and his team bring the American Hotel back to life, is inspirational.
I love every update and Ive been watching almost 5 years I think. Progress is amazing for the town and for everyone envolved. ❤❤
HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2025 will be great . Peace and Blessings to all people, all over the whole world.
It's been a transformation for you. In so many ways you are not the same dude who first rolled in. Not many people could just jump in with both feet and manage to not just endure but thrive. Will be interesting to see the future.
I am so glad you followed your heart. What a wonderful adventure this has been! Thank you for bringing back the history of your new home
"..... ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE.....!" AND YOU FOUND YOUR ADVENTURE.... GLAD TO BE HERE, BRENT!!!!
As a construction worker i enjoy seeing how professional and modern the new hotel is being built. Such a great well written show. Happy New Years 🎉
I'm really happy for you, Brent! It's so exciting watching you bring this rows to life!
BIG LOVE!!!
march 19th 2020 struck me also as it was the day the uk govt declared "covid" to not be a HCID high consequence infectious disease.
You Inspire Our Dreams. So happy to have found Cerro Gordo and You! Be Safe.
Brent, keep working to make your dreams for Cerro Gordo a reality. It's very inspiring to see the progress you've made and to think about what is still in store for you and Cerro Gordo!
Nice recap of 2024. Great progress on the long and mid term goals. Looking forward to more episodes for 2025. Thanks for sharing.
The contrast between the start of your channel, just you and the dream, and now, the dream is taking place. I can't wait for the future of sero Gordo. An adventure, moments in time captured year by year.
Brent,
I've been watching your adventure at Cerro Gordo since the beginning. Always look forward to your updates. You have to be proud
of what you have accomplished there.
Best of luck in your adventures in 2025...
Mark
I love your channel, Brent - been following since the beginning and really looking forward to another year of your adventures in Cerro Gordo...best of luck to you in the new year!
Your year in review makes clear 2024 is the year of huge success one success after another.
Just wondering if you ever found the nature spring around mine number 22. I recall hiking with my dad and uncle back in the early 70s. We decided to take a dip to cool off.
This is truly living your life with no regrets! Wishing you the very best for 2025 from Cork, Ireland
Cerro Gordo called you. How incredible. It's hard to imagine the past 4-5 years without you, Cerro Gordo, the Silver Runs, and these videos. Here's to a great 2025 and all it has in store!
I love going on your hikes with you. The high desert is gorgeous and it brings back good memories
My how time flies. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful 2025 and I will look forward to seeing your new weekly shows.
I love a good "recap". THIS journey of your has been a great inspiration to us all. Thanks so much for your hard work and the opportunity to see and expirence the true old west.
Very touching video Brent, you've come a long way & I've been there to enjoy your journey from the beginning.
Keep on living the Cerro Gordo dream!!!!
The world needs more people like Brent! Happy New Year!
i plan on being one besides disaility adovcate
Appreciate everything you do Brent. It's rare to see such kind and wonderful people on the internet and since day 1 we have followed you on this journey, always believing in you. Keep being a positive and safe space for us to venture into when life isn't always the best. Looking forward to visiting Cerro Gordo when the hotel opens up. Here's to an amazing 2025!!
Brent In the beginning a dream was born And trials and tribulations came You Brent stuck with it Even though you probably didn't know how hard it was going to be You branched out and got a lot of help from people around the world And you stuck with it Some day into the future you'll be able to set back and look at the creation of your dreams No one said it would be easy My dream is that your dream comes true Thanks for being you
Fireman 🔥🔥🔥👍
7:12 Good for you, Brent. When someone doesn't hold up their end of the bargain, it's ME NO RECOMMEND status, for dang sure.
What is the name? Jeld Wen?
@@LanceBeckmancorrect. The company is notorious for this behavior
@@ExtraMedium665 thanks. Looks like they have 3 locations. I've rated them accordingly
That callout was kinda wild to me idk
@@stayreal4l284 Been watching Brent from the first episode. He's had many 'vendors' up at CG, some reliable, some not. This is the first time he named and shamed one--that 👎🏻 was unusual. His predicament--weather-sealing the American Hotel before the snow drifts piled up, affecting the structural integrity--hinged on getting those windows. His reaction is certainly understandable!
Thanks for the memories! Thanks for being uncomfortable and sharing this adventure with so many. You are loved. It's great to be alive in 2025.
Happy New Year Brent. Thanks for taking us all along the adventure. May 2025 be even better.
The ability of humans to thrive and survive is amazing. I love your content and how you have stepped back and soak up the history of your lands
I hope you had a Wonder Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year 2025, Brent! Hope too that your animals, cats, chickens and of course, the goats. 🎉🎉
You are such an amazing storyteller. It is so much fun to indulge myself in your videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Here’s to 2025! 🥂
Very proud for your book to be written and sold everywhere …thanks for sharing Brent
Wow! I love it when you drop a surprise video. Amazing accomplishments, Brent! And I love the original music popping up in several places. I cannot wait to see what next year brings. Happy New Year! 🎉
I bought your book as soon as it was available and I still keep up with your videos. Good luck in 2025 Brent.
I got your book for Christmas and have been watching since the beginning all the way from the Midlands, UK 🇬🇧
You are Cerro Gordo's heartbeat and I'm excited to see the American Hotel up and running, hopefully next year! I would love to visit one day!
You are amazing and such an inspiration. I've been watching you when I get notified abd it is awesome what you have accomplished. Hats off to you from Orangevale, Ca
You brought the spirit of a ghost town back to life love what your doing your the man 💪🤝❤
You have come so far and achieved so much I cant wait to see what 2025 has in store for you.... Happy New Year Brent!
Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy 🎊 New Year. I hope to get up there in 2025. Your videos have gotten me back into rock hounding 👍
I love watching your videos you make like we are out there with you. I love learning about the history. Of your mine and the surrounding mines
Hey! I used to keep up a lot better with you before I had kids ,and you actually used to reply to me a lot on tik tok, but anyways every video I do get to see of everything that’s been happening is awesome I really love to progress you have made it’s amazing truly. You and the people around you have really done an amazing thing
I love your videos! I can't wait to see what happens with the hotel. One day I want to come by and see everything for myself. It looks so beautiful.
I do, too!
I'm sure you've heard it before, but you're awesome man. Keep up the good stuff, I hope it's as wholesome as it appears.
Absolutely loved the book! Listen to it twice now! Something I will keep coming back to. I think it was the right move to record it with your own voice! Thank you for sharing
You have no idea how much I look forward to your videos!
You are inspirational Brent. Looking forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for you and Cerro Gordo. Happy New Year from Australia!
I am finding HOPE to focus on, vs. becoming overwhelmed with, "2025."
Looking forward to Cerro Gordo adventures.
Please may we meet your animals this winter?
I discovered Sy Montgomery's books.
You might enjoy one or 2.
I read, What The Chicken Knows.
Quite wonderful.
