Just the sort of character every village needs; loveable rogue, who would ultimately look after anyone in genuine need. Bill played it to perfection. Sadly missed.

Such a shame that ITV pulled the plug on this great show, just to spend more time and resources on that dreadful Emmerdale. That is not family viewing like Heartbeat was. Emmerdale is just all nasty vindictive people who argue from start to finish.
