I do a lot of work with low code tools and the development part is about 10 - 20% of my working time. It is all about thinking what is better and testing different solutions. It is about discussing requirements within team and designing solution.
I've seen a lot of people say similar things and you may be right, but I can't help but think it's just a way to cope with the fact that it could make a lot of our jobs obsolete. Sure the ai can't do a lot of the "human-like" deep thinking stuff, right now at least, but I think the question is does that even matter when it takes so little time to talk to the ai and let it help you make difficult decisions plus give you the code for it. And almost anyone can do that with just a little bit of knowledge,. So sure, maybe a small amount of engineers will still be needed to run the AIs, just something to think about.

It is a very powerful tool and it will give you a lot more opportunity if you use it right. It cannot just build something without being asked to do it and being given a starting point. Use your creativity to come up with an idea as an app or otherwise then use chatgpt to accelerate the design and development. It works as your business analyst, your architect and developer. It builds something and you suggest improvements and manage the development. It needs to be guided otherwise it doesn’t work.
