It is important that celebrities honour and cherish their fans, but we should also think of their situation as well. The industry basically drains the life and love out of these people, reducing them to exhausted, stressed out individuals with few people to turn to for solace. So if a celeb says that they don’t feel comfortable taking pictures with someone at the moment or want to avoid any sort of attention, we should respect that. They also have bad days, and they’re also human beings with feelings and problems. The important thing is to love and empathise with one another.

i mean we are, but not for the reasons they think.
When I was 15 years old I met Slash for the first time (I’ve seen him like 20 times now with his solo stuff and back with Guns).
Back then I didn’t really understand how the world works, so when we all lined up to meet him and it was my turn I asked for a picture. He put it perfectly. Word for word “No, I can’t. I’m sorry. See, if I take a picture with you then I have to take a picture with everyone and it just adds so much time to this when we don’t have a lot. At least this way, every one can get something signed if they want to.”
Granted he is like the nicest human being on the planet (he meets as many fans as he possibly can after shows when you know he’s tired and doesn’t really want to) and should be a model of how to carry yourself as a celebrity, but from that point on I kinda started to understand.
So now when I meet people like that, including Slash. I just shake their hand and tell them that I appreciate their music.
These people can’t even go to the grocery store without being bombarded by mobs of people. Some of them just don’t know how to handle it.

1. Tell them to keep making good music
2. Ask for an autograph like a normal person without shoving the pen down their throat
3. Treat them like a normal person
Dude I've met both of my idols minus Michael Jackson & Prince. Claudio Sanchez and the guys from Dance Gavin Dance. Yeah, they arent super huge but these dudes were the nicest people I could possibly imagine. The guys from DGD actually let me sing a song with them, then took me on their bus and smoked with me. Even fed me dinner. Seriously. & Claudio was extra sweet. He told me he saw me in the crowd getting hyped and said I "made the show" for him. I hold this man in the highest regard as far as respect & admiration goes. No, I'm not obsessed, but I do respect him to the highest degree. It didnt matter, the dude was totally nice. I also didnt chase him down screaming his name repeatedly and smacking the hood of his car. Lol.

These modern day celebrities are often horrible to their fans whilst people like Mike Dirnt, even when being pushed by security guards, stop and get photos with their fans or give their fans a plectrum to show that they care about them and respect them
To be honest, if everytime while went outside i will meet that noisy tide of peoples screaming my name and trying to touch me, I'll do the same. It's just wierd behavior and pumps up anxiety to skyhigh levels. And by that behavior, pop stars start to despise peoples who idolizes them. Totally understandable. Other way, if you just calmly walk up to your favorite(something) and ask for autograph, i think he can do that OR he has full rights to decline your request. He human, you human.
