Well I you got another sub bud. Love camping, love the outdoors, and LOVE vanlife. Had an astro for years, now I'm looking for a new one to build. You've done a bang-up job!
Silky Big Boy 2000 or any other Silky Saw. I’m a tree guy and wouldn’t recommend many brands other than Silky. I also usually have a Gransfors Bruk Small Forest Axe with us as well.
I'm not really planning on doing a lot of cutting my way into a location... but there are def times when a saw is necessary. Im looking at going electric, mostly because I don't want gas fumes in my camp gear. I need just enough saw to get myself out of trouble. That said.. I had a good hand saw and those two downed trees were dead enough, I could have got through them with the saw or my axe... I just knew there was a dead end ahead and we were not in desperate need of a camp site. In fact we had many miles to cover... so we abandoned that trail. You can bet that I'll be checking it out the next time I'm up there.
Yeah I never take anything gas powered to the backcountry other than my vehicle. Silky is just a professional grade brand of manual saws and worth the extra money.
Such a cool looking van🤙
Thank you!

Glad to have you! Get that van and let's go hit the trails!
This is so amazing I love what you did to that Astro van
Thanks! It's been a lot of fun watching it slowly evolve into my vision... going on trips like this one is what it's all about!
