Southport stabbings: Prime minister calls rioters a 'gang of thugs'

Sir Keir Starmer has hit out at what he called a "gang of thugs" who have clashed with police in several areas of the UK following the killing of three young girls in Southport.
After meeting with senior police officers at Downing Street, the prime minister said a police unit would be set up to tackle similar outbreaks of violence.
Sir Keir said he would not allow a "breakdown of law and order on our streets".
