When you see a car like that it is pure elegance till the end, a car like that you rarely see them anymore, since most vehicles are now SUVs, not like the era where there were more cars, and the trucks were used for farm work I believe even some of these limousines were bulletproof before the owner got them, I would say that this model would be what the 600 series was back in the day except with modern touches.

Both companies have been and are still linked closely to Mercedes-Benz today, so it seems to have been "sort of" a factory built.
1000 Sel doesn't mean anything, is it a 10liter engine? 560 is 5.6liter, 500 is a 5l, 400: 4l and so on until the 260 with 2.6l, so this 1000 is a fake model and not an original limousine from Stuttgart but a transformed one.
It was for Presidents of Countries, CEO's and famous Celebrities and their entourage to display their power. Big Cars = Big Ego. What else would you expect them to be chauffeured around in? A Honda Accord?
