In fact we have a lot of very talented people, here in France like Cédric Hérole and Achile Bibard, thoses guy work a lot for Japanese team, they work as animator in " Space Dandy " with Shinichiro Watanabe, director of Cowboy Bebop, im not sure they was well payed for that, in fact it's very hard to make full French production project, we simply don't have a good system of studio or money funding like the Japan or USA have.

Oh man, I recognize so many of my favorite gobelins short films, amazing compilation and editing. I'm in love with French animation and this is the first MV I've ever really seen for them. This sorely needed to be made, you're really awesome. And kudos for crediting and sourcing all of the studios and animations. Glad to see KAIROS here too, that small short is underrated.

if you like french animation you should look up lastman its super good i loved it i don't know if its animated by a french studio I'm pretty sure it is i know its based a french comic though so im fairly certain its great tho check it out
CGI was used for the backgrounds. The animation of the band members was planned out with CGI models, then the CGI was traced over and given detail in 2D animation.
AlphaProto Nope, it's just that France cares more about 2D animation than 3D. Having that sort of environment and education allows for more people to become talented in 2D animation. But that doesn't mean every animator will learn to be this good. These are just some of the better ones.
Neptune.. In France we have Ubisoft and Teamto.. Those are huge 3D animation studios.. In 2D, the biggest one is like Ankama and their success doesn't really come from animation..

Same may be said of the USA. Corporate animation studios do not represent the genre nor do they set the trends, especially Disney Studios.
Anything by Ankama should be up here. From Wakfu to Dofus, or even MFKZ. A lesser known movie sure, but a damn fun one that deserves more attention!
