Robotics Bin-Picking system: Renault Nissan has chosen the 3D vision system VISIO NERF for its sliding sleeves bin-picking application in its production process for gearboxes.
An ABB robot IRB6700 is feeding 3 machining tools. This robot takes parts in bulk in a bin with dimensions which are 1200mmx1000mmx1000mm in order to empty completely the bin.
The principle of the cell is based on an acquisition of a 3D cloud of points of the bin that we will empty in robotizing the picking of the parts thanks to a 3D vision system. The accurate 3D recognition of the parts in bulk is sent in few seconds to the robot via the 3D vision system cirrus1200. This system is easy to program as it is using the comparison between the CAD model of the part and the gripper to the 3D cloud of points. The technology used for the 3D sensor is able to provide a robust system to the shade differences of the parts. The cirrus1200 scanner is fixed over the production line and allows with only one acquisition, to pick via a double gripper several parts in order to increase the profitability of the robotized cell. The comparison between the 3D cloud of points and the CAD model of the theoretical part able us to communicate only the grippable part with any collision with its environment (other parts around, bin). The stereoscopic technology combined to a LED projector enables the use of this solution in harsh industrial environments without installing a high cost protection.
Compatible with the following robot: ABB; KUKA; FANUC; KAWASAKI; STAUBLI; Universal Robot; DENSO; YASKAWA ...
