- Do you get distracted in prayer? Get bored even? We all do. Because for one, we’re humans. But also, we’re in a culture that’s created a millions ways for us to stay entertained. For that reason, the stillness that prayer often requires can feel unnatural.
Learning how to “continue in prayer” will involve being ok with doing what feels like “nothing”. When the truth is, prayer isn’t nothing. It’s everything. Since you are not just talking to any ol body. You are communing with the living God.
“Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.” - Colossians 4:2

When i cant focus i write my prayers down. Iv noticed that this has improved my prayer life and i get answers faster, so iv stuck with it. It works wonders and cuts the distraction because your focused on the pen and writting whats in your heart
I’m the same way. I type them in my notes app. Especially with having ADHD. God bless!

Oh my goodness!!! This short is a "God wink". My Lord heard me discuss this very same thing with Him this morning as I apologized for my lack of enthusiasm to just read His word and sit with Him. Jesus, hear my prayers these past three years have been difficult on me I am weak. Give me guidance. Please come back soon I don’t know how much longer I can hold on. As a single parent things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and my hours to work are limited because I’m now homeschooling them. I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them I’m so ashamed. I suffered an heart attack and I’m battling lupus I’m overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. I constantly struggle to pay my bills and struggle to provide groceries. BUT I KEEP FAITH. Even though I want to give up. Jesus please take the fear from my heart. Father God it is you that gives me the strength to keep going. I praise you Father even as I fear homelessness please continue to give me strength.❤

Psalm 34:4-5 says "I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed."
You have no need to feel ashamed. Keep doing your best, and leave the rest to the Lord. He Loves you and your kids, and will provide!!

Father in the name of Jesus we come to you thanking you for Tiff and her boys. Thank you for giving her strength. Lord we are asking you to prepare her a table filled with her necessities and then some Lord please take the burdens off of her shoulder Lord give her comfort and joy in these moments Lord give her rest allow her new support Father place her around ppl who can help her. Please don’t allow her to continue to feel like she is alone. Send her like minded ppl who love you Lord and that will love her and her children. God please take her burdens from her and comfort her through this time. We ask these things in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Thank you for sharing this. It is a struggle I have been having, in my walk with the Lord. The devil is quick to take advantage and tear me down for getting distracted and not being "perfect". He tries to make me feel guilty for not focusing on God 100% 100% of the time.
I am comforted in knowing that I am not alone and that Our Lord and Savior has put this on your heart to share. ❤❤❤. May the Lord continue to strengthen, protect, and comfort anyone who seeks to walk in His will. In Jesus's Name.

I didnt even know how much I NEEDED this video. I had no idea or, at least, it never crossed my mind that silence, alone with God, was an option. I would feel so bad, like Im being disrespectful or something so I'd just stop and do something else. This was a refreshing and empowering word bc it's so hard to calm my mind down so I would opt to not pray or pray when "when I could". Im not putting my words together, correctly, at the moment, but I just want to say thank you for this word and it was something that I didnt know I needed to hear. :-)

I just watched a video the other day by Erica Mukisa talking about how the devil showed her that he swallows our prayers when our mind wanders because the intensity and consistency dies down in that moment! It was eye opening. We have to train our minds

This is so true. I don’t know how many times I’ve started to pray and the next thing I know my mind has wondered to something else. It can be hard to quiet the mind sometimes.
part of those distractions are part of the process of "entering in". don't let those distracting thoughts discourage you, continue to press into God's presence in prayer

Wow, that was so on point. I'm genuinely going through this constant interruption of my prayers...Almost exactly how Jackie said it. Because I can't go deep, I start with the Lord's prayer, worst part is jumping into other thoughts and forgetting the prayer.

My book just came in today. I can so relate to this. My mind races constantly and even when my intent is quiet time with God, my mind still races with thoughts and questions and random facts. I will add a prayer for a quiet mind so that I can connect with God on a deeper level. Can't wait to get into this book.

You nailed the possible when some individuals find impossible to pray because of our technology keeps them all over social media.I had to laugh because Jesus said started your prayer with our father. And you clearly said it 😂Which he is the father of us all. I enjoy keeping my prayers short and simple because the lord’s knows already. Now! When something goes left I’m yelling at Jesus saying. I read your scriptures now let’s get those angels moving and work overtime because the devil ain’t slacking. Indeed!!! The father hear me. I don’t really know if this can work. I’ve been trying to search on how to actually pray since I’m relatively new to the faith.
I’ve secured a quiet place, taken away my phone and have just waited. Expecting Him to come. I asked Him to teach me how to pray. I heard nothing. We can’t blame God for our problems, but at the same time I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I hope someone can reply to this and give me some advice because I almost cried this morning when I couldn’t hear anything from Him.
