Héctor Elizondo!! He didn't win an Oscar (the film was mostly ignored but Julia was nominated for Best Actress) unfortunately, but was *nominated* for a Golden Globe. So were Julia & Gere. Julia Roberts won. But Elizondo was so good!! He gave that character such a big heart. They were all in Runaway Bride too, Elizondo was on screen less so people forget, but it's like a mini reunion. Ralph Bellamy was a great coup, the gentleman they have dinner with & later Edward doesn't take over his company. "We're going to make ships together!" This was his last film. Very memorable. And Jason Alexander! It took me forever to realize he was also on Seinfeld.
I loved that Vivian wasn't a hooker stereotype but a real smart cookie with many different facets (amongst other, the kinda girl who drives the rich business man home to prevent him from crashing that gorgeous car 😁).
Julia Roberts was so perfect for this role. I saw Pretty Woman in the theater I think on a study break (Steel Magnolias, also a study break 😁) & loved it , still do. I guess many of us know the movie was originally supposed to be darker, definitely no happy ending. I don't think that would have stood up so well. The line where this obviously beautiful girl talks about how the - hopefully someone can help with the exact line, but they're lying in bed and Vivian says the unkind things said to her growing up were easier to believe. That still resonates with so many people. That's when we see why yes, beautiful women can lack self worth & fall into this life. Definitely multi-faceted! Really well written, why she knows about the car, why she can tie Edward's tie.

I was 19 years old and I was in Fulda Germany. After year later there was Gulf War started.... And fire 🔥 opening scene on the TV to let me know.... And after year later, West and East Germany become as one country while I was there.... They’ve had break down their insane walls.... And west German give ever East German to 100 marks an each person. For their celebration matter of the walls down.... That’s lot of money for an each person for 100 marks....
