The open world map is just a giant track, just like the open world maps we currently have for AC1, you select them from a menu and in you go, same as the tracks, you will still have all the racing tracks from before. The game itself isn't forcing you to be in an open world. Don't expect too much from the beta though, the full game is still a year away. And their official open map wont be available until late summer, so we will only have race tracks in the beta for a while. AC1 isn't going to lose support overnight, people will still be modding AC1 for years to come because it can run on a potato now and due to all the mods that currently exist for it. Look at GTR2, its almost 20 years old and people still mod it and play it, its also potato friendly. The classics that have easy and plentiful mod support just don't seem to die on PC.

i think the normal assetto corsa will stay relevant because of the massive mod community. but i still think that evo will become rightfully more hyped. i mean you can drive around in big parts of germany, which has great roads, trust me i'm german, and at all types of weather and daytime. that was always missing in stock assetto corsa. no matter how much modders tried to put it in, it was just a hassle to setup and maintain and also wildly inconsistent across tracks and no tires available for those conditions anyway. just a mess. people will be super happy that this finally ends with asetto corsa evo. so I'd say let's embrace it. that's going to be fun, even if all the beautiful mods are missing at the beginning

I reckon you'll still be able to do all the things you can do in AC1. The open world will be on top of that.
That's good to hear. I haven't looked to much into it because I want to still be surprised when it comes out.
hes talking about using replays so he can edit his videos in the way he does. open world free roaming typically doesnt have replays.
the point about all the maps and cars i downloaded but never drove on is true af, so many touge maps installed but untouched in my install LOL
im at like 2800 cars and 800 tracks, i doubt ive used 20% of them haha
