I read an interesting fact about white round cheese on the Internet, Kurt, during the war in Kazakhstan there was a prison for the wives of soldiers who betrayed the country and the Kazakhs threw this white pebble to the female prisoners who were starving, but this gesture was taken as mocking because they thought it was a stone until they tried this stone, so they saved themselves from hunger, and the guards thought that the locals were mocking the prisoners and were happy thinking that the locals did not like the prisoners. something like that
Thank you so much for visiting the country my parents are from ❤ it's nice to see it from a tourists perspective and with your positive nature. Now we live in Germany, my parents came here almost 30 years ago. Originally my ancestors lived in the Wolga region of Russia and were deported to Kazakhstan after worldwar 2, because all germans were considered traitors, even when they already lived for 200 years in Russia. Other ethnicities were also affected by this, for example koreans. Many of them ended up with nothing in Kazakhstan and the kazakh people took them in with much hospitality. There are many stories of my grandparents, where they were starving and kazakh people helped them out with food without wanting anything back. They are such generous and nice people and I wish I can someday visit this country. also Plov and Beshbarmak are my favourite dishes! 😍
Many peoples were sent into exile in Kazakhstan, but the best and most grateful are YOU, our beloved Germans! when and if you decide to come to us, write, I’ll meet you and show you our country!
Horse meat is the most ecologically clean meat. They graze in the steppes and eat wormwood. They are not allowed to use chemicals. I don’t know how it is in other countries, but in Kazakhstan it is like that.
I'm from Kazakhstan myself. However, what you say in your videos is so pleasant to my ears because you have thoroughly studied all the nuances of Kazakh culture. Thank you for visiting Almaty and sharing your impressions.
I just googled about these "white balls" on the internet and found a very interesting article about them. It's definitely kurut and very typical of Central Asia. Nomads eat these sour cheese balls. They are very filling and keep for a long time. When buying them, you have to make sure that they aren't stuffed with flour! and cheese to make them cheaper. Excellent kurut is only made from cheese.
Horse meat is also quite dietary, it does not have a lot of fats. Also, you don’t eat what you ride. So there are different types of horses for meat and riding. Thanks you, I love the quality of your videos a lot
By the way, don’t worry, curt is weird on your first try. It’s sour, salty and tart. People used to melt them in teas as a replacement for milk. But many people nowadays eat it as snacks, almost like chips, but it has much less calories
Interesting fact about that bazaar and people in general, you can actually see different ethnicities on different products, like dairy is mostly Turkish and Russian women, dried fruits are mostly uzbeks and Tajiks (they look Persian), Salads are Koreans and Kazakhs (Asian looking), also usually everything about horse, meat and dairy also Kazakhs (Asians), pork Russians, so here you go that’s how you can tell the difference between Kazakhstani people

That helps to stay full and energetic on their way. And still we actually love the taste of it, for you guys maybe it is too salty. But as for me I can not live without it .
What a wonderful and fun walkabout in that Green Bazaar. Great to see you both trying those snacks, horse meat and that authentic Kazakh dishes. Good experience, Flora & Note. Thank you very much for your interesting videos. Always looking forward every Saturday to watch them.

Horse meat Is a local specialty which unfortunately i have never tried so far. If Green farmmarket means organic farmmarket? Enjoy your trip and adventure in KZ! I love your personalities!
I like that series from my country! You are guys very cute and positive! And video interesting to watch. Thanks for visiting my country! And i hope you're come back again to see more and try something new!

I'm glad you you enjoyed there. And, yes 1st floor is cheaper than 2nd 😅 but not that much. Also, it's a normal reaction for foreigners to small cow milk balls - they can have different taste and hardness. Nomads used them in a long journeys to survive without water.
This market consider clean, sell plenty of things, and prices is reasonable. Very friendly people. Even try their food , you don't buy is still ok with them. WoW, less then US $50.00 can purchase a lot of goodies.
