We used to go visit family and would always eat at Boyettes in Ridgley, TN, I always had the fried catfish, don't know if they're run by the same family.
I don’t want anymore rain for a little while. Keep that pantry stocked with all this crazy weather. Glad to see you Gay. Sending hugs. Praying for you. Stay safe and well my friend
My dear friend....so good to see you here, too! I am over rain....but , we are getting more. I am glad most of the water in my yard isnt visible now....ground is mushy.....a few days of sunshine will fix that!
Enjoyed hearing this story. You watching the lady next to you dressing her potato is such a sweet story. Yum, a dressed up potato is right up our alley. I've never made potatoes this way. Ill give it a go.
I liked the idea of boiling instead of having to heat the oven for so long. I wanna save every where I can....that oven heats the house...and makes the ac run!
That's a really cool idea Ms Gay! You've got a full meal there with all those yummy toppings. Thank the good Lord the flooding wasn't worse for you dear Sister. Admonish away, people need to listen and prepare. Bless you and your loved ones.
I’ve been thinking about you with all of this rain. Now, tonight, they are saying more rain and tornadoes. We prayed against a tornado last night and it didn’t come here. Growing up, we called them taters with the jackets on also. And, they were good. I like baked potatoes too, so this is a great idea. Thank you. Yes, my cupboards and pantry and freezer are full. About 6 months full. Guess we are old fashioned. Much love to you.
Old fashioned and wise. ( if I do say so myself) lol......I am scared of tornadoes. The hurricanes...we have ample notice to prepare...those tornado buggers just pop out of nowhere!!!!!
I’m so glad your ok with all the bad weather, you’re such a sweet lady and I love watching you cook and the stories you tell. Thanks for sharing another great easy recipe. God bless you always.
It was so yummy!!!!! I am thankful that my home didnt flood. Lots of folks around here had flooded homes...cars....just lost everything. I feel blessed!
I do this too Gay. I think it saves money because it doesn’t heat up your kitchen like baking in the oven, especially in the 100 degree summers we have. Gay, do you have a video on your sour dough. I just have a bread machine. I made homemade bread by hand when I was a teenager but now I am older and the bread machine is so easy although I can do the dough cycle and then put it in my loaf pan to bake in the oven. I was going to try to make my husband some English muffins. I see recipes for it but I’ve never tried it. I don’t have a pullman pan, but they’re nice. Hope you had a good Mother’s Day. It just finished storming here, so I’m thankful I don’t need to go water. God bless you sweet friend. Prayers.❤️✝️🙏🤟💐
I do have videos on the sourdough.....not making a starter , but , using one. Search the videos....I don't remember the number. I have on on making and using a potato flake starter, but, on a reg basis I use just a regular starter...flour, water...feeding an active starter.
Hi Strings!!! We are So happy you stayed safe and dry!! These taters look so good. It’s one of our favorite foods! It feels good to be back in your kitchen with you!!! We will see you next time again, right up front at the butcher block.♥️♥️♥️
😊 Alrighty! Love this idea! This is one for the grandkids to come over and help cook dinner with Gamgam. Me too.... I never had a steak if me own with bake potato until I started dated Darrell at about 16-17 yrs old. Love and prayers ❤Sweet Lady!
That looks like a good tasty meal without much effort! My kind of meal for when it's just me! I love your little back stories on everything Gay! It makes it interesting! Be careful with huricane season Gay. I know you are prepared but keep restocking that pantry! I sure am but Lord are the prices so very much higher! I'm very blessed that i can just shop the deals and sales because of a fully stocked pantry! Keep Scott in prayer. He just got home from a 5 day ICU visit. His lung collapsed and he had a chest tube put in. He's back to normalnow but it was a frightening experience because he was suffocating. We don't know why it happened or how to prevent another one from happening again. It's in the Lords hands.
OH.....prayers for yall. I call your names often. I cant imagine the fear of not being able to breathe. Troy had that problem....Yes. Just keep rotating, stocking the essentials.
Those look completely delicious, and such a perfect size for those of us with slightly smaller appetites 😊 - thank you!! For whatever reason, YT only today showed me your flood message 😢. I'm so grateful the water did not come any higher at your house!!
I remember the potatoes having their jackets on Lots of butter and sour cream Hot rolls are a must to complete this meal Great video God bless you my friend🙏♥️🙏
I bet those would be great in muffin tins too instead of cupcake tins. You can flatten the potato more so you can pile more on them.😊 I do my baked potatoes in our Air fryer. I cover them with olive oil and sea salt. The shell comes out so crispy and the inside is tender. You dont have to poke holes in them when you air fry them.
So thankful you are safe have prayed for you antheMorrows too know it was bad there. Pray for no more high water. You are not rambling love that you tell how you grew up had some of the same life style just in Mo. Making your potatoes for lunch .Going to have mine with stuffed pepper today meat an and rice from your other recipe. And my pantry is full due to Gods blessing .
Ice cube, until you can’t stand it, after bite, if you can get it there, then hydrocortisone, for mosquitoe bites, won’t itch again, works on black fly bites also. My first microwave was as big as a tv, with a little itty bitty inside. You know ice box is easier to spell than refrigerator and sounds prettier also. Looks good Gay, happy your ok, did your son and daughter make out good.
Mornin'!!! Thanks for the info. I will try that! I hate those pesky buggers! April had no issues. Troy Wayne lives north of Dallas. He had huge hail that dented lots of his things. Golf sized hail. Lots of rain, too....but that hail was an issue! It broke the sky window on top of his motor home. ugh.....the weather of late is so unusual.
Im not laughing at you my sweet friend, everytime you say it, it reminds me of my dear, precious moma you and her are the only two ive ever heard it called "ice box." She had me when she was 43, Jesus called her home in 2012. Been watching you almost as long as youve had youre channel and im just now noticing the faucet beside your stove. What a handy gadget. Take care sweet Gay.
My mama actually had an "ice box' with big hunks of ice to keep things cool. The name stuck in our family. I love my long time strings family. Thank you so much for continuing to stay with me! The good Lord bless you!
I am good, but, we continue to get rain. Hopefully the lakes have gone down enough to handle it without having to discharge a lot of water; I am ready for hot dry Texas!!!!! lol
@@ApronstringsGayJordan I know because if we get prepared for what if and those who don’t well I think there we’ll be trouble when people are hungry enough and didn’t stock up every thing goes to pot. If that happens.
