Ruth, I love this video and concept! It ties in with a concept that I've had for some time now with one slight difference, maybe you can help. I need to have a user input form like you created in PowerApps, but my form needs to have other fields tied to a pre-existing unique record from a list. Example would be if the SP list was pulling in new data daily from a DB and the user of PBI/Form needed to use a drop down to select a record and add some local comments to that unique record that wouldn't tie back to the DB necessarily, but would be stored in an alternate table. All of this of course, would tie together from SP to PBI and vice-versa. Any thoughts on how to implement, along with a MSFlow immediate refresh like Geoff mentioned would be greatly appreciated? Keep up the great work!
Wow this is amazing, You made this really easy to understand. I am a PM and currently we are using a spreadsheet per person and in each spreadsheet one tab per month. I have to compile monthly and it's very very painful. Thank you for presenting this.
Great video. FYI - The Title Field has special powers in a SharePoint list. Specifically, in the the List view, SP automatically makes the value of the "Title" into hyperlink to view that list item. I highly recommend renaming the Title field, rather than hiding it. IF you really, really want to make it hidden, you can go to Advanced settings and click "Yes" under "Allow Manage of Content Types", then click OK, then edit the "Item" content type and set the "Title" field to "Hidden (will not appear in forms)" instead of Required. But again, I wouldn't do that unless you absolutely were sure you didn't want the usefulness of the hyperlink in the list view as described above. (Bonus Tip: You can turn off Attachments in the List Advanced settings)
Wonderful!! Love your tips 😍, thanks! I still “hate” the title by default. It makes sense on a library, never used it on a list, I should be able to choose if I want it... ;) /Ruth

Hi Ruth, thank you for your quick response previously. Is it possible to block the visibility of data to everyone? Like I should be able to see and edit only my data not others.
Hi Ruth, thanks for the info, it was indeed helpful, I have prepared a time tracker, can you let me know if we can capture the login and logout time/hours from power apps to sharepoint lists.
Hi Ruth. How are you? As you had created a calendar table it means in Power BI desktop you don't select the option "time series" correct? I believe it increases report performance, correct?
Hi john i am after something similar, but i would like to carry forward any hours under the monthly target to the next month and add to that months total For example each employee has to work 160 hours per month and if they have only worked 140 then the next months total should read 180 and the totals use the 180 rather than the 160. I am struggling to find out how to do this any help would be really appreciated as this solution is amazing and just what i needed but just needs that last tweak to make it work for me
Thanks Ruth, I have prepared the app, but can you help me here the date and time when selected in power app does not match with the date and time reflecting in share point when a new entry is submitted.

Can you make a tutorial for an app that can track employees breaks, employees can click on break button also see how much break is pending and manager can view which employee is currently on a break also approve break requests ?
Great Job. I am facing issue when i use power apps inside power bi. I am unable to see the two tab " Choose App and Create App" . Do we have any access restrictions ? Could you please help me with that ?
Saving my life at work right now. Thank you!! Question: Is there a way to restrict Resource Name to members of the team/group only (as opposed to the whole environment)?
@@CurbalEN Thank you for your reply. Yes, in SharePoint. We have a big environment with a lot of smaller teams. So I wanted to restricted to just my team. But doesn't seem like I'm able to. Great video! I got it to work, just like you explained in the tutorial, and that never happens! Question though; how can I prevent other users who enter their time via the PowerApps add-in on Teams? I have a small team of eight employees (summer college scholarship workers actually), and don’t want them to see each other’s time entry. It’s not necessarily private, and maybe not even sensitive, but I do want to put something in place that filters everybody else’s time entry but their own. Any suggestions? Thanks again!
Curbal Thanks. I’ll give it a try. But keep in mind, I’m talking about when a student worker opens the PowerApps UI tab in Teams so the can enter their time for the day, I’m assuming there will be a longer and longer list of new data cards that contain their co-worker’s time entries too. I haven’t thought about their visibility into a BI dashboard strictly for them, but that’s not a bad idea. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply, and I’ll give the other video my full attention tomorrow when my freshman are painting the baseball outfield wall! Thanks again- Scott

@@CurbalEN Hola de nuevo. Ya descubrí la solución. Para que salga la información de la lista de usuarios es necesario que tu seas el creador del equipo en Teams. Saludos. Gracias por todos tus aportes. Seguiré al tanto de tus videos.
Hi, very cool video. But person peacker doesn´t work at all. If I click on it it shows only item 1, item 2.... there are no users in the list and no results if searching. I had to delete the app. Then I created a new one. it worked. But two days later i have the same issue. Do you have some information about that bug?
Hi Ruth Finally our governmental organization here in DK aired the 365 solution. I've managed to accomplish all of your steps in this guide, but I've encountered one problem: When entering data through the power app in Teams, the date reported back to me in Power BI is one day behind. For example: I choose 8. december (today) and click enter in the power app. Then, when visiting power bi, I see that the entry is now registered on the 7. december. I'm using your calendar but can't seem to find the error related to this? Hope to hear from from you!
And the dates are ok on sharepoint? Difficult to tell without seeing the data, but if the issue is consistent then you can always add a day on power bi and that should solve it.

Hi, that is a good tutorial, but i feels like want to simplified the things. I want to make it like the Task from outlook, the problem with Outlook task is that it don't record completion time of the task but only date. I want to make it as my team to just tick complete of the task, then it records the completion time and date of the task. I want it that they don't need to manually input the completion date and time, which users can put whatever date and time they want. I am still very unfamiliar how this all Power Apps works
Hello Ruth, I loved the solution and I want to try here where I work. However, I have some doubts: 1) Before "submit item", is it possible to have a window for review? It would be interesting if the user could confirm what he typed before sending in order to avoid errors. 2) Is it possible that "Resource Name" already appears the username, instead of having to type the name and search the mailing list? 3) Is it possible to block the editing of items? My co-worker added an item, but I can edit it normally. Just as he can edit my items.
