This is SUCH an underrated point. Jordan is one of the few hard-hitting safeties left, which makes me nostalgic af lol I was such a big fan in his first stint and this is another guy back at his football home. Todd Bowels is so good at putting him in the right spots at the right times. I can't wait to see it!

Baker is impressive. Since this is a team sport, the key positions seem to be impressive this season. The only problem I see with Mayfield is that he may be a little short for an NFL qb, but he has skills to overcome that.
Height IS important. But height is seriously mitigated on the quarterbacks throwing motion. Bernie Kosar was like 6’5” but he threw a lot of sidearm. Baker throws overhead vs 3/4 (in general). How the quarterback throws, combined with the velocity, and perhaps most important (besides accuracy) is how long to load and whip it out. Mahonnes (besides having all day to throw) was/is a natural short stop. All bets are off with dudes like that.

Personally I believe D is the biggest need for improvement. The offense looks much stronger on the O-line. Bake had the game won, but the Texans roared back down the field with a TD and the clock timed out. Much the same with the playoff game in Detroit. Stroud and Goff had good years, but we've got to learn to shut the good QB's must be shut down. The Bucs are much closer to finishing a season in the big game than most fans give credit. I grew up in Tampa 61 years. I forgot more about the bucs than you'll ever know in your life. The Bucs were 9 and 8 last year and they play in the weakest division in the NFL so 7 .5 wins are about right. The only reason they won last week against the Dolphins it's cuz they played their starters against Miami's backups. You wouldn't be such a fan if you was around back when they went 0 and 26 in their first two seasons.

Hey, it is a tradition to trash the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the season starts. The last 3 years, and particularly last year, they always underestimate them. Last year, generally predicted to take last in the NFC South and have a top three pick in the draft. Instead, they had a winning record, won the division, and won a playoff game. Tom Brady's last year they said he would fall off badly and the Bucs would not make the playoffs. Instead, they made the playoffs and won the division with a terrible record. The year after the Super Bowl, all the "analysts" predicted them losing in the first round of the playoffs. Instead, they made it to the NFC final game and lost. I think if they beat the spread again of 7.5, they will have a winning record and may make the playoffs.

It can go both ways because that's playoff football. McVay is still one of the best offensive minds in the sport, and sometimes a top offensive guy gets the best of a top defensive one, especially in how skewed the league is towards offense now. If Baker doesn't win the carolina game last year and we dont go to the playoffs Todd would have been fired and be the linebackers coach for some team if he was lucky. Do you realize how close he was to being fired last season? Baker saved Todds career and gave canales (super overrated and not a good playcaller just a good guy) a head coaching job. Without Jason licht signing Baker in the off season Todd bowles is most likely retired because no one will hire him. The product of a good coach in arians and a proven bust at all levels in New york. I love the Bucs and think we will have a great team this year in spite of bowls because Liam Coen has the Juice. Liam (or anyone from the Mcvay tree) would undoubtedly be a better head coach than Todd.
