The reality is that the Spanish ships had very limited ammunition to fire and had to ration their shots. During all the days that the Spanish Armada passed through the Canal, small and fast ships replenished the ammunition of the English ships from nearby ports. That was the only reason why the British fired continuously, with very little results due to the great distance at which they opened fire. The tactic of boarding was a type of warfare of its own, especially in the Mediterranean with the use of rowing galleys. In the oceanic naval warfare of sail, Spain used its artillery as naval doctrine as it is historically corroborated in the battle of the Third Island 1582 against France. First time where two large fleets fight exclusively with their artillery. Therefore another manipulation of British historiography put in evidence. All the Spanish losses due directly to the artillery fire of the English ships were, 4 ships!! of which 2 went to run aground against the coast. A ridiculous result for those so-called great gunners. As for the supposed agility of the English ships, their only advantage was not being loaded with more than what was strictly necessary for naval combat. In contrast, the Spanish ships were fully loaded, with men and all the material necessary for landing in England. Logically, an overloaded ship goes at a much slower speed and its maneuverability is greatly reduced. This question was conveniently manipulated by English historiography, making believe that their ships had a better design and therefore were faster and more agile. The absurd propaganda of centuries does not make sense nor supports the slightest critical revision that today no historian supports.
