I turned on CNN and I saw nothing, I was like ok this ain't real. Then it flashed on the bottom of the screen. I lost it. I cried so hard that day. I was so hurt.

She transcends through generations. I am a huge fan & was 16yo when she passed. My now 16yo son has fallen in love with her music, 20 years after her passing. Seems full circle for me. I still listen to her music daily. Her legacy will live on. ❤ Side note: my son said her music is finally being released on Apple Music in October!

She was a special gift to us, we were so blessed to witness her incredible talent she was able to share her angelic voice with the world. It’s sad that she was taken from this world too soon, but we’ll always remember as a sweet, beautiful, and talented person she was.

To see a life filled with such promise taken so suddenly & in such an awful way. This was the age before social media, so insight into a celebrity's daily life was relegated to TV shows & specials like Diary. I'm happy we got to see Aaliyah happy & enjoying life.
