Fringe Season 5 - A Farewell to Fringe
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- Personal reflections from series creator J.J. Abrams, Executive producer Joel Wyman, and from the cast.
Load up with tissues, this contains footage from their last night of shooting (among many other things), and it's extremely emotional!
2023 - rewatching this for the first time since it first aired. So much better than I even remembered. Walter is such a unique character and John Noble played each variation of him so well. I really wish more people knew about this show.
I was watching the show back in the early 2000 I think and whatever channel is on the took it off the air but I missed it and only now it took me half an hour to watch the playlist of Friend one to season three. I wonder if this season for or what they’re only three season because I just click on the video scene from season five I haven’t seen a commercial referencing fringe season three and five, but it was a really good show. Makes me question everything when I look in the mirror
After what everyone gone through with the pandemic, makes you wonder what happened in another universe like Iris what was the pandemic like for them?🤔 on the other side?
I would love to rewatch this series unfortunately I don’t know where I can find it. Any help would be great TIA.
@@carolajoy4432 It's on HBO Max. I just watched it for the third time!
The is one of the first series that succesfully made me cry of genuine saddness. Walter, Peter, Olivia, Astro/Afro/Alex/Aspirin/Astrix/Astrid, Broyles, Nina Sharp, Altlivia, Lincoln and of course Gene.... I miss all of 'em.
I loved all of Walter's names for Astrid! and I read an interview with Jasika Nicole where she said that she fell down laughing when he called her "Afro" because she wasn't expecting it! lol. I love her and the entire cast. Each actor was just so good in his/her role. I miss them all, too, and am re-watching the show again.
You forgot Asteroid and Asgard :P
Astrid was an angel. Loved all of them.
Same, I NEVER cry for movies or tv but i cried so hard for fringe.
Jeffrey Lebowski Me too, I just finished all 5 seasons and I feel like i'm missing family now that it's over. It was wonderful. I want a Walter and Acid (ooops, I mean Astrid) in my life!
Just finished rewatching all of it today for the first time since 513 aired.
Walter has got to be one of the best things that’s ever happened to fiction.
Thank you for existing, Fringe
"You are my favorite thing, Peter. My favorite thing." I still cannot think of that line without shedding a tear.
The part when Peter mimed to Walter when he walked through the wormhole..
"I love you, Dad".... pfff. wow!
THE NICKED
Yep. That one too.
One of my favorite lines in the entire series.
Jack van Rinktwit and I'm crying....
Every. Single. Time
9:30 "I wanted you to get your heart ripped out with them." Well you fucking succeeded i was an emotional wreck after the last episode

As a 50-something adult, I have seen quite a bit of TV in my time. There are some shows that are iconic because they lasted so long, and some because they "broke the mold" and did something truly different, and others that despite being brilliant in every way (in my opinion) that simply didnt catch on. Of all the TV shows over the years, Fringe was probably my favorite and still is. I watch the entire series again every year. The chemistry between the actors is amazing to watch, and each character is so deeply fleshed out that you really do begin to "care" about them. If you havent seen Fringe but liked Firefly and Chuck, you'll love Fringe. Not because the stories are similar, but because the characters are so deeply explored.
Stuart Zen Not nearly as good as Breaking Bad
@ Stuart Zen. Excellent post. I think you brought up a key thing that made this show so great - the chemistry!
I continue to re-watch FRINGE, and still hope out hope, that something will be added to the FRINGE Universe, in the future.
@@Jesus-Said-T-U-Y-C-A-Follow-Me
@@calidude1114never understood why people like that show. Dull, dull,, dull.
I'm half way through season 3. This is my 7th time watching the show. It's my favourite sci fi of all time. The story telling is absolutely brilliant and even after watching it so many times, it still manages to keep me on the edge of my seat even though I know what's going to happen.
I'm not a person to rewatch shows, but fringe is my always favorite show. Even my ringtone is fringe's intro.
I finished the show for the fourth time today and I still cry like a baby at the end. By far the best show ever 🧡
@@CokiPet, it is my ringtone too! Watched it six times.
when walter said ""You are my favorite thing, Peter. My favorite thing" I cracked and cried harder than I expected
It makes me feel better that the time between each of these comments aren't that much it comfortig to know there are still fringe fans out there. :-)
We're here :)
We should all write a letter to J.J. Abrams and BEG him to make a "Fringe" movie where Peter somehow realizes what has happened to Walter, and figures out a way to go and try to bring him back- or Walter "from the future" figures out a way to come back to his timeline. I don't know about the rest of you, but I so desperately wanted a "happy ever after" scenario. Regardless of whether they were to make a movie or not, IN MY HAPPY LITTLE WORLD they do figure out a way to bring Walter back, and they spend the rest of their days solving Fringe cases... perhaps they even re-open the bridge between the two worlds. The possibilities are endless :-)
i believe the same and fringe will always be part of us no matter what happens/happened !!!
fringe is the best!!!
well done to the cast and producers!!!!!
yes! i have just finished watching the final season on netflix as it has just come out
yes someone should write
I love it!
I love it how the characters change so much throughout the seasons. Olivia in season 1 is just an ordinary FBI agent. By season 5, she knows she was part of some crazy childhood experiments, has insane abilities, can come back from the dead, has lived 20 years in the future without aging, has fallen in love with Peter and had a child who dissapeared, was found, died and came back.
Best Show, Best Story, Best Actors, Best Directors !
I cried watching this, and still am. I've never been so touched by a series before. Thank you fringe for all the laughter and tears. I will never forget you.
Fringe was one of the shows that you could watch multiple times but never get tired of. I watched every season at least 5 times now. It's one of the best shows I've ever watched! Everything about the show was perfect and amazing. There wasn't a bad episode! They ended the series perfectly, although it was very sad to see it end! :( I hope they eventually bring it back. But I highly doubt it. I just wish they knew how many fans they have now. Thanks to Netflix so many people realize what a great show it was! I still watch it when I'm craving some sci-fi! Haha
I just love Astrid...I want a best friend like her :-D. Fringe is the best show ever, along with LOST
I watched this on TV every week from the beginning and I'm still watching it on Netflix years later. Such a beautifully dark and loving show.
Watching this after I just finished the series for a third time now was not a good idea. Fringe is everything I want in a series. I have so many questions about the future of the characters and I never wanted the series to end, but I think it was a very good finish to an amazing show. It's so sad that budged often ruins amazing TV shows. I'm glas Fringe had the chance to be completed. I will forever love this series and it's characters.
+UA-camJunky95 I know exactly how you feel, this is my all time favorite show and absolutely have to watch specific episodes periodically, if I don't binge the whole series over again. I think they did an incredible job closing out the show with the hurdles they had to leap to bring us the 5th season. Very few shows have touched me the way this one has.
same!!!
My interpretation.
1. Events in all seasons that we watched is deleted timeline and never tuke place in the new reality
2. Olivia and Peter had never met.
3. Our Peter is dead.
4. Peter no.2 is safe and sound in another universe.
5. Walter Bishop was the only one who wonted to play God after the death of his son. William Bell much later accepted that idea in deleted reality.
6. 0.00001% is probability that Walter Bishop took out parts of his brain.
7. Walter Bishop is the real villain.
8 9.9999% is probability that Walter Bishop succeeded in his intention to eliminate both universe and create his own.
THE END
Thats not what I think. They deleted the timeline to the point where the observers invaded. That means that Olivia and Peter are together and have Etta. I think that Walter ceased to exist and thats why Peter gets the white tulip as a reminder that everything will be ok, because I think shorty after that end scene he will find out that Walter is gone. The Peter from our universe is obviously dead, he died as a child, the Peter from the alternate universe is the one who is together wth Olivia and is the father to Etta. Walter Bishop definitely wanted to play God, but thats why he got parts of his brain taken out. William Bell did this for him. Walter Bishop is not a/the villain.
TLDR: Basically I think that all of what happened in the series really happened that way, there are no hints that lead to assumption that we were fooled and made to believe that what we saw wasn't what really happened.
but observers are no more so our Walter Bishop did not have to go after Peter no.2 and if he did that mean that they are both dead and that is the end than
Binge watching this through lockdown.... this is the fourth time I have watched it through the years. Brilliant series.
After watchig all 5 Fringe Seasons for multiple times, I am grateful to say, that this is the absolut best series I`ve ever seen!
Thank you for that wonderful Farewell to Fringe
Brilliant show!! Great cast and crew with excellent writing. Great chemistry between the actors. I wish TV, Cable, and Netflix would consider making some shows for 'thinkers' who appreciate well written quality entertainment. Good scripted Sci-Fi shows are so hard to find these days.
Anyone else want Fringe to come back, either through a movie, or Netflix, or something? 'Cause they still have the William Bell ploy point set up to show & there could be a bunch more new stories to do. Damn you Fox for picking viewership & money, over quality of content of a solid show that should've been allowed to go until 2015, rather than be forced to go there because of its impending cancellation!
Watched this show growing up, never got to see season 5, but just watched the whole thing from Season 1 episode 1. 2023
The second half of Season 5, all of the major emotional scenes, they knocked them out the park. Season 5 is still a great season.
I love that in the last scene it says “thank you for your support” on one of the letters
This fantastic show is currently on Sky in the UK. Seasons 1-5.
As a fan originally I had not seen it on anywhere, even after looking for it now and again,
(Should have just bought it. Think I will now. It's a show that you can revisit )
Anyway, I literally just finished episode 13 the last of season 5, and I swear, I just cried a bit, choked up I suppose is a better description, when Peter says to Walter at the end,
"I love you Dad " oh my god, I'd forgotten so much, it was brilliant seeing it again and not remembering how it all turned out etc.
But man, that scene was beautiful, heartbreaking even. I won't spoil, but I just felt that I had to say how much I loved this show originally and again now, 7 odd years after it finished originally.
Brilliant cast. Fantastic show.
This show has and still is my favourite program ever! Very clever writers..great actors. Walter has to be my favourite. Thanks J.J
every day >> john noble love you > i feel u as my dad
fringe it was amazing show i've never ever seen show like it ... before
I really miss this show :(
literally the BEST series I've ever watched...
One of the best sci-fi series hands down. The beginning of Brown Betty is hilarious 😆😆😆 It would be awesome if they had made a movie afterwards.
With the exception of one scene from the third season I missed the original incarnation of Fringe. However I am watching it for the second time via Netflix; currently in the middle of season 4. Desiring to learn more about Anna Torv, my search led to several hits including this deeply moving Farewell. I'm looking forward to other commentary posts once my second run is completed. Fringe is[was] an amazingly remarkable and fascinating show. It's TV at it's very best. Thank you, EVERYBODY.
***** Having the time of my life.
crying my eyes out. a show i will never forget
This is one of the best shows that has ever been created. I will never forget it.
Still a low key sci fi gem 15 years later
Fringe should not have ended, one of the very few tv series I can honestly say was worth watching. I miss it.
Thank you for telling me a beautiful story, I will miss this show. Again thank you Fringe Team.
Watching the whole thing over again... I sure miss such an intelligent, thought provoking, with brilliant ideas, yet so much heart, care and feeling show to watch. Entertainment has become so dumbed down. I miss you Fringe and all the characters.
I agree everything has been dumbed down. Everything is all about superheroes now, there's no real science fiction.
This show helped me through a really bad time in my life.
Fringe is a great show I loved watching this it made you think about how the worlds are diffrent it is just amazing show the cast are great
I'm so sad that it's over! I LOVE this show!
Fringe is quite simply in a different league to most else. Utterly elite television
Watching this broke my heart. I love this series so much.
Still waiting for a show which is nearly as good as Fringe. For me, John Noble did the best performance ever from all the series I know.
It’s now 2021 as I’m posting this. I miss Fringe. Honestly, it was one of my favorite shows. And, let me tell you that I could run my own TV sins channel over how hyper critical I am about shows. But Fringe. It took itself just serious enough to be engaging. Yet it had enough light hearted/comedic moments to allow you to suspend disbelief & smile. 😎
I watched the complete season only in 2014. so yes Joshua, Your legacy will always live on.
someday m going to make my kids watch this show.
Never forget... And I miss this amazing show...
I watched Fringe from day one and to this day it's still one of my favorite shows I've ever seen
This show had a fantastic run and is my all time favorite. It ended superbly - I'm actually quite glad that it did not get run into the ground with 8+ seasons like other shows. It's that wanting you are left with at the end that leaves the most impact and connection with the show.
God, I loved this show, and I cried watching this! Best show ever, Fringe!
Fringe is, and will ever be the only movie that makes me cry...
"Do not create an idol for yourself" but how I love this show and the actors who starred in it
J.J is a fucking GOD in this kind of Sci-fi things:))) i really wish or I hope they'll continue this movie.... becouse I really so curious what happend with Walter in the future... If he some how come back from there... how he'll do that... Overall, things this series is it has been good enough..
I miss you Fringe.....so much!!!
I am number one fan of FRINGE!!!! Loved it very much!!!!
I am so proud to have been a fan of this show
So proud, so proud, SO FUCKING PROUD,
Proud to have watched it every Friday night without fail,
Proud to have fought for it with the other fans,
I can say I WAS THERE.
Now millions of people will watch and love this show some day, but they will NEVER EVER KNOW what it was like to be a fan of this show as it happened, to help fight for it so it got 100 episodes.
I am happy to have experienced it all. THANK YOU FRINGE.
I JUST fininished the series now and all i can do is cry and cry
Yep and that's exactly my point. We know Josh and John are very close but we didn't see their goodbye either, so just because we didn't see one between Josh and Anna doesn't mean they didn't have one. :)
Sometimes answers lead to more questions
couldn't stop crying during these 21 minutes... ;___; miss this show so much!
I bless the day when I found Fringe. Thank you!
just finished fringe. just thank you!
I wish i'd discovered it sooner. If there's one show you want to (and should) binge watch, then this is it.. Watch it, i swear you will NOT be disappointed!!..👏👍👌
As much as I am loving this interview someone forgot to bring in Nick Lane, David Call. He was very much involved in the link. Nick is a born leader and yet he is always helping Olivia and his friends, even if that means bending the rules. Michael Cerveris was most amazing as September when he reveals himself to Walter and saves him and the boy from the other side [Peter]; and in the end, he is willing to go with his son.
I cried for the longest time three months ago as I binge-watched all the seasons again and yet this family show ended years ago. That's how much you fall in love with the actors and the outstanding job until the very last second of filming. ❤️❤️
I miss this show terribly. Nothing else is like it.
I will always miss Olivia Dunham and Walter Bishop those 2 characters were just awesome and Astrid Farnsworth was also very good that interaction with Walter in the show and her counter part from the Alternate universe when they meet each other is also fun.
right in the feels.
i watch it every nite to go to sleep to and i love the themesong!
This is so amazing!
Batman thinks that there will never, ever be a show as good as this was.
I LOVE YOU, DENETHOR!!!!
I'm watching on Free TV. I can't help thinking of "The Mod Squad" . Oliva reminds me so much of Peggy Lipton and Peter, one of the others. For me, that's why I find them so likeable.
Emotional investment amply repaid with compound interest. Best love story ever.
We need a movie. Five seasons and a movie.
We just binge-watched all episodes again. What an incredibly written, incredibly acted amazing show. Sadly Lance recently passed, but maybe the cast can reunite for a special? Maybe called out of retirement to fight a new crop of berserk observers? C'mon guys and girls. Make it happen!!
And I forgot to mention the obvious. The incredible production of the whole series was off the charts amazing. Well done..
WOW - i came here to see Walter out of character - all these guys are great! Definitely appreciate the acting even more now.
I really, really miss this show.
I miss them all
I feel as if they're my family
Just finished the final season on Netflix. Absolutely loved it!!! This show was so much more that a scifi show like they said I will always remember it. :)
I like how Josh acts and talks like Peter lol
Best series I've ever watched hands down💯❤
A masterpiece in 2020
the best t.v. show of all time, the video made me cry
If only Amazon could bring this back !!!
It's on HBO Max. I just started season 5. Should I be watching this video before finishing the series? Hmmm....
What a great show. It rewards a second viewing! or Third.
Love always wins ♥
White Tulips for all you beautiful fellow Fringe Fans. >>>T H E F U T U R E I N O R D E R
I miss this series
There are so many things in my eyes right now!
This hurts. This still hurts 😭😭
if they ever decide to make a movie via kickstarter i'll definitely throw in my 50 $
Amazing show, i just finished watching it and i miss it already
one of my favourite shows ever n I love it. I would like it to continue.
this made me cry
Perfect team
best show ever
omg i remember the cow :'(
just finished watching Fringe and We love it! to bad Season 5 was the last. they could have easily gone to the previous type of episodes where they investigate fringe cases, oh well great series die young...
I don't think John and Josh were filming together on the final day. There is a nice photo of them hugging just after they filmed the sad scene where Walter said "You are my favorite thing" though.
Fringe - "The Little Show That Could"
It could just be that they never showed it. There wasn't a hug between Josh and John in the video either...so it's possible it was done in private or that it just wasn't filmed.
So beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Hum its grate show many people like Anna trove she is really great actress
