Yeah cuz there is an extreme lack of jobs and poverty there and people wanna survive so when a good paying job is offered where you scam people there are lots of applicants. It's sad but makes sense
If you immediately remove your method of payment from Amazon after placing an order then nobody can order anything on your Amazon account. Problem solved.
I refuse to talk to customer service representatives not based in the US. Especially people with Indian accents named Shawn or Bill, etc. I don't care if it's considered racist.
For UK and EU countries people. Actually, if you call Apple customer service and if your issue cannot be solved during the call and so your case will be send to the back office, the call will always come from Ireland, since Apple is based in Cork and you might speak to someone who is not a native English speaker but from one of the EU countries and will speak English with an accent, like me, I am German. I do support to 95% the German speaking market, but do have to handle UK overflow. But yes, be very careful. I myself do delete messages like that right away
You're right to be suspicious. I think people need to come round to the fact that just because somebody calls you that doesn't mean you have to speak to them. You have a choice and nobody is going to put you in jail for refusing to speak to someone.
Trouble is, until these big companies stop using foreign call centres to handle their customer services, this will continue to happen. As its not always easy to know if it is a scam or if its a legitimate call agent needing information to assist you. I wish there would be regulations/laws against companies using foreign call centres to deal with UK customers. Even Tesco mobile is doing it now 😩
Not always possible as it could be someone like the boiler service company etc etc. just listen to what they telling you and you need to listen carefully if they telling you bank etc etc hangup and call your bank or Amazon etc etc
@@MrAky4 If somebody really wants/needs to get hold of you and you don't answer then they will invariably leave a message with a number you can contact. I don't know why people keep their money in one account I have a savings account and just transfer it to my main account when I'm buying something but older people probably don't have any app. But younger people should do it it means no one can take anything so no need to worry
The first red flag is the indian accent . The second is, they say 'Hi how are you' They don't say your name . Red flag. If it was someone genuine they would know your name. The authorities in india are doing naff all too
@badwolf9090 a) I can be mad at two separate ppl/parties at the same time (I can multitask); b) who's to say that the lady wasn't a scammer who tried to get an actual Amazon rep off the phone so that they can proceed with the scam (unlikely but he's already been fooled once so he wouldn't know whether both are telling him the truth, only one of them were, or neither of them were); c) they were in cahoots and the lady "saved" him from the caller and now wants his information after he let his guard down; or d) all this was staged and none of it was real (despite it happening all the time to someone naive or had a lapse of judgment)?
@@SayAhh. Good assumption. This is just a short; perhaps, all the necessary legal steps were in place prior. Nothing is hidden under the sun, remember? But doing things legally to protect people is better.

By the looks of things, having random banking apps on your phone with banks you _don't_ use could be a good way of throwing scammers. If I use my _Paribas_ card on Amazon and the scammer starts talking about my _Commerzbank_ account, he's just dox'd himself! 💡 And let's face it; Installing apps you don't use only costs device space, and banks aren't likely to mind - You're giving them free presence on your home screen, if nothing else! 😇 _Sound of several UK banking apps being installed on phone..._ 😋

Most of these scammers are from India. They been doing this for over a decade in different forms and no one is doing anything about it.

@@somerandomfellow8321 Bull. Most of the people doing this kind of work are educated. Fact is they are just criminals.
And Africa too.
If they used what they learnt during education they could earn a better life sadly most enjoy ripping people off 😡
How can you be that dumb to fall for that? if they dont sound english most of the time its a scam
Listening for accents doesn’t help. So many unemployed people will do anything for work. They could have YOUR accent.

WHY ARE YOU REDEEMING!!!!?

You should not let your guard down just because someone has a perfect British or American accent, especially in the age of AI.

yep im the same
Just one of hundreds of scams. Doesn't have to be Amazon, it could be from any large company. Just listen for the accent.
i bet next they will use voice changers, still obvious tho
This is why customer services should not be outsourced to india etc

They are thieves. They steal the truth. Professional gaslighting.

Absolute scum that run these scams.
How do the reporters listen to these calls?
Specially on Amazon, I delete my card after every transaction. More work for me but SAFER!!
Why don't the telecoms companies just allow us the option to block every call from India at will?
Great news that were able to listen in and prevent this scammer!
