The big Question how Cancer cells are effected by 2D glucose is cancer cells don't have shift mechanism into fat and protein energy pathway. The food is only glucose. Without glucose they die. That's why I recommend keto diet for cancer patients. Fasting also helps a lot for cancer patients and now the same will happen with covid 19. This 2D glucose will not kill the normal cell . Congratulations good explanation. How about 2dg acceptance with GLUT of brain cells as well as RBC. With my understanding its effect on all other cells which are proliferating fast, so also on embryonic tissue. Let's see how it works, if it saves life with little side effects in future after further studies we can overcome that also. Thank you for this video. I have a question though. What differentiates viral cells from being specifically targeted than other cells that will consume glucose? I assume it's because they have a greater energy requirement as someone else pointed out, but I'm not quite sure if this is the case. I don't know if viral cells are similar to cancer cells in that hypoxic conditions hamper oxidative phosphorylation because of the removal of the final electron transporter, making the cell more dependent on glycolysis in getting ATP. Adding on to this, the subsequent inhibition of glycolysis metabolism from 2-DG would cause massive ATP depletion.

Congratulations good explanation. How about 2dg acceptance with GLUT of brain cells as well as RBC. With my understanding its effect on all other cells which are proliferating fast, so also on embryonic tissue. Let's see how it works, if it saves life with little side effects in future after further studies we can overcome that also. Thank you for this video. I have a question though. What differentiates viral cells from being specifically targeted than other cells that will consume glucose? I assume it's because they have a greater energy requirement as someone else pointed out, but I'm not quite sure if this is the case. I don't know if viral cells are similar to cancer cells in that hypoxic conditions hamper oxidative phosphorylation because of the removal of the final electron transporter, making the cell more dependent on glycolysis in getting ATP. Adding on to this, the subsequent inhibition of glycolysis metabolism from 2-DG would cause massive ATP depletion.
