Thanks for an informative video. I just got my certificate as a party wall surveyor. I would appreciate it if you can answer my question. when the Adjoining owner chooses their surveyor, the building owner's surveyor should go for a site visit to record the schedule of the condition. after that, he can prepare the award. above comments are correct?
Hi there, thank you for the message and sorry for the delayed response. It is common practice for both of the surveyors to attend and record the schedule of condition, then typically the building owner's surveyor prepares the draft party wall award. Hope this helps. Regards. Quatrefoils
Hi there, thank you for the question. Whether a Party Wall Notice is required will depend on a number of factors. We would be happy to take a look at this for you (free of charge), feel free to contact us through the website and send us a photo of the area in question. Many thanks. Quatrefoils
Could please state whether a party Wall Act applies to a under dwelling as the owners above are altering the floors ,I am obviously concerned about the professionals who will do the work & afterwards when completed the future transfer of noise ..would this act apply to that sort of work ? Thank you in advance Paula Moss
Hi Paula / Mick, Thank you for your message. A floor separating say flats in different ownerships is likely to be classed as a 'party structure'. Works such as exposing and altering the structure of the floor would be notifiable under the Party Wall etc. Act and the building owner carrying out these works would need to serve a formal written notice to you and any other affected 'owners' under the Act. If you would like to discuss this further, don't hesitate to contact us at www.quatrefoils.co.uk or on 02034753257. Regards. Jarard
Hi Jarard Thank you ,Yes I word in deed like to chat about this further,as an outline to what, if anything I can do about it to address this formally . Would this Saturday morning be convenient to call you ,kind regards Paula
