    My wife has a kodiak 400 that i've worked on a few times. Stator and carb. With the Yamahas if you fix it right you only have to work on it every 10 years. The parts are expensive but well made. The engines are basically bullet proof. Be aware they are a little beast to ride.

    I think this is going to a fine machine to keep or sell. a workhorse for sure.

      Hey Fan, I hope it becomes a great daily rider and work horse as U say... Seems built well and heavy enough!!! Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

    I had no doubt you could make it run. If it works out will it be used to plow snow and for towing? It's not very nimble or have a plush ride but it can work. Running a load of wheels and tires over the border in the morning and just finished a Big Bear 350 seat tonight that was covered with so much tape I had to cut it off with a knife and shears. I can't describe what was left of the foam since this is a family friendly channel. Hopefully we'll cross paths sooner then later, keep on wheeling.

      Hey ATV Seat Exchange! We are in the same business, correcting Hackers' mistakes.... LOL! Do U cut Ur own foam? Do U do it as a one piece or glue pieces together? I should come up to see U and watch U work. Would be very interesting! Thanks for the info, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!

      @@HarveySpooner Like the guys that work on road crews, I patch or replace. The foam used in atv seats is high density, unlike a couch cushion. My customers range from guys that flip machines and need the seats done quick, to the particular cats that drive $70,000 pickups and don't want to part with a dime. I have developed many ways of repairing wrecked seats, here are just a few interesting tools, shrink wrap, cheap vinyl flooring, odd foam pieces and old hardened seat covers. Some day I'll explain my madness to you in person, but I'm sure it's a puzzling collection on face value. What started out into a simple run today turned into an all day affair, but that's the life I lead. Great to hear from you and keep rolling.

    You think that's hard to work on, that's actually one of the easier Utility quads to work on. Less plastic on it compared to all the others. Great machine, fix anything else it needs, and give it a good bath. It'll run forever. And DON'T change the carb! lol

    • @HarveySpooner
      @HarveySpooner  4 роки тому +2

      Hey Refuge! With a lift, working on this quad would not be too bad, one just needs to have all their socket swivel extensions available! My plan is to turn it into an oem daily driver.... No hacking, no short cuts, (hack the cdi only if necessary...) . I was surprised how cheap the clone carb is.... Thanks always for Ur good advice, knowledge, watching, and commenting!!!

    I wouldn't underestimate the value of that yamaha grizzly.. Fixed up your looking at at least a $4000 quad

      @HarveySpooner  4 роки тому +2

      Hey Matt!! I like the sound of $4k! I plan on getting it to daily rider status.... I just hope the rest of the drive chain is alive and well! Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

    I have a real tree grizzly 600. I have put everything electrical new that I can think of from wiring harness, cdi box, voltage regulator, stator with pulse generator, ignition switch & key & still no spark plus when turning the engine over with the push button & you hit the throttle the motor quits turning over but when you let go of throttle it turns over again & again. Do you have any suggestions?
