This looks so gorgeous (very much fits my aesthetic tastes) that I almost don’t care what the gameplay is like. But before I end up crushed under stacks of games, I should probably listen to what you have to say about the gameplay part, too!
I can always trust that you review games honestly. In this case I went and also checked out a gameplay video and it was deflating. I feel all the art is like bells and whistles ultimately distracting you from the fact that this is a very small game vs. how it presents itself.
the art (kingdom, floating ships, landscapes) makes it look like a big game XD this reminds me of canvas bcuz (art wise) that game drawn a lot of hype then vanished, played it twice and done, it was at top 60+? in BGG now its like 500+ same as flamecraft
Its basically an overcomplicated trick taking game. Even though the designers claim its low luck, i have found it to be very luck-drive given the random nature of what you get from the deck and the players decisions which are based on no information at all.
Thank you for the awesome video! Can I plz ask... what is that word he said at the end? Is he saying dabeau? What is a dabeau game? Thank you very much!
The solo mode was co-designed by Ricky Royal who is pretty highly regarded, so expect it to be good! There is a solo playthrough on his channel Box of Delights :)
I was going to back this game but ultimately I don’t know if there’s enough satisfaction in putting cards down based on very little information about what your enemies have placed down. To me it feels like most will just randomly choose a spot to lay down a particular card. Doesn’t feel crunchy or compelling enough to me.

The art for this game is just so dang killer!
AI art?
@@bethezebra there is no AI art in this game
I've only played an early playtest iteration on TTS, eager to have a closer look at what it's evolved into soon.

Wow, so true. For me, this is good for a couple of games, and then that's it. I don't see the staying power. Unsure why it's getting so much love.

Oh man, add this to the menu of games to play if we ever figure out how to close the distance between Almost-Canada South and Almost-Canada West…
Absolutely. We'll call it GivePause-for-Cardboardicon!

“Debut” game, as in their first game by this studio. Thanks for watching!
