I loved this song from the first time I heard it. Something about how the Hu's Mongolian Throat Singing mixes so well with Jacoby's vocals. Like you both said... A match made in heaven. I like the original video featuring just The HU as well, but this video is on a whole different level! It would be so cool if Papa Roach invited The Hu to go on a North American tour with them! I would fly across the country just to see that! :)

This band is awesome. They take traditional Mongolian songs that have been sung since the days of Ghengis Khan and put them to modern music. Now imagine a horde of Mongols preparing for war, singing this song in the thousands and drums beating. That’s what they did before combat. They lived for two things. Killing and Partying

You need to react to the Hu's "Sugaan Essena". This is an adaptation they did of their song "Black Thunder"...for a Star Wars video game (long story). Great stuff, and you get fascinating closeups of the band working their unique instruments.

The one Mongolian lyric of this song I can always remember the translation of is the one at 4:22. In English it translates to, "If you come with evil intentions, be ready for a fight!"

For the record: nobody wants the Mongol Empire back, except Mongols. It was the largest cohesive empire that ever existed, from the Far East to and including Eastern Europe. And they did not achieve that with kind requests. But I prefer the original song because it's more exotic.

Naah, we won't be conquering anything again even if you plead us to do so. Having people with different religions, values, etc... in one country is just impossible, i would rather live with people that share most things with me. If there will ever be an opportunity, we just want to free our mongolian people and their lands from the countries that have occupied them one way or another and reunite once again. That is what the Great Khan did in his time, and that is why we "worship" him, not because he and his sons conquered the most land or whatever, never the less that was still damn impressive but doomed to fail.
@@jabs615 The Great Khan did not liberate any Mongols, he created THE Mongols. National borders are always just a compromise and you never get a people as a whole into a country. Unless you oppress the foreign peoples on your borders. You have to do what you accuse the stranger.
For a very long time the khans managed to hold cultural differences together. The empire is broken by size. It could no longer be managed centrally and broke up into individual parts. These were empires like everyone else and disappeared like them.
