if people are concerned about the sugar/sweet levels those look like it is Japanese sweet potatoes which is much less sweet and doesn't get the super sweet carmelized thing that normal red sweet potatoes have . i like to make spicey potato salad with Japanese ones because they are just mildly sweet. but a normal red sweet potato is super sweet. i bake a bunch on Sunday night and have them with butter instead of breakfast cereal, or with a little maple syrup

What type of potato did you use. That looks more like a Batata Spanish Potato.
I'm from Georgia and cook sweet potatoes in a similar way for special occasions. 😋. But your don't look too appetizing or appealing. Sorry
And eating them naturally, with their own sweet taste. Is Always on our table.
Wash them a little olive oil, baked on the oven. And they don't last until dinners on the table 🙄. That's why they are the last dish cooked.

I don't understand why people feel the need to smother sweet potatoes in sugar. I am assuming that most people, like me, don't really care for them so they want to try and make a dessert out of them. It may work for pumpkin to be made into pies or sweet breads but any veggie that not only needs sugar but also marshmallows to make it palatable you should give up.
Next year I will be growing some; not for me but to make treats for my grandsons who love chicken wrapped sweet potatoes.

But if you like sweet on top of sweet that's where syrup comes in. But I notice the skin is removed that is where your added nourishment is that is beneficial for you internally alot more than the potato it's self.

@@juliahurley7091That's the whole idea they don't want people to live longer. If people don't want to hear sugar is a toxic for your body. Then industries can pack it in their products causing many unhealthy toxic chemicals. Which causes higher health expenses. So it is up to every individual to be educated in what is healthy. I'm sure this person does not think about cooking healthy but just making quick recipes for on line like so many others. It is us that supposed to know better. I follow some great natural doctors on what foods are good to eat specifying what each herb vegetable or fruit is good. Motivational doctor is a good one.
