Yeah there's some real power in these boxes. I've not had a lot of time to make tutorials recently but I'll get something made about the Bass&Beats eventually, promise
I bought one of these. The sounds are great and Sonicware are doing some really interesting products. I do find however the interface is very cryptic. I gave up using mine as I couldn't remember all the button combinations. Maybe simplicity is better with less functions. You can argue lots of things are like this - Roland P6.....TE KO133......so it's not just SW. Each to their own. The sounds were very good in this though.
Yes I think in hindsight the spec Vs interface on this was a bit of a misstep for Sonicware. They've never tried to cram so many features into the more recent ones and they're a lot easier to use. You're right about the Roland P-6 though, I couldn't even finish watching the Loopop video, way too many button combinations 😅
@@Myexpectationsarerealistic Not multiple bass parts simultaneously, it's one monophonic bass track per pattern. The settings for the tracks are saved in the pattern
Yeah that's a great feature. The dubstep style pattern Bruh uses it loads. Great for making really complex patterns. The XFM can do that too on all 4 tracks
Apologies Chris if I missed these basic questions. 1) Can the drum samples be changed via sys x? 2) Is the bass synth only monophonic? It seems incredibly powerful. Just with the detune function, I wondered if these other oscillators were usable for chords?
No worries Sadly no you can add your own drum samples. This was Sonicware's first steps towards a sample based Liven but they crammed too much in I think to allow user samples for the drums. Yes the synth is monophonic. There is no way to play chords but you can program sounds that use the assignable knobs to alter the pitch of one of the oscillators which I used in one of the presets
How does the bass sound on this unit compare to the bass sounds included on the MC 909? I can't decide if i should buy one. If its not improving on the basses I already have then i don't have space.
I'm not sure to be honest, I've never used an MC909 but from reading the spec they are very different machines with the 909 using samples and being able to play polyphonically, then the Bass & Beats using wavetables and playing monophonically. It's difficult to compare them
Keep an eye out for my ELZ_1 play quick start video that will be uploaded on Wednesday, that has a super oscillator section and a unison function that will do exactly what you need. It's a multi engine synth with a looper. You might also enjoy the XFM, it's pretty deep so is capable of lots of different things. There is a super saw example in this video I made ua-cam.com/video/9AFJE0L1nDs/v-deo.htmlsi=MbrR0xXqBxCka7Yf
Another option is the Lofi-12 which is a sampler but I made some synth sample banks for it including a detuned saw ua-cam.com/video/mz40jgBzahg/v-deo.htmlsi=iIxGefS9AM25vs3c
They are still on the list yes. So sorry it's been such a long time but I've had a massive amount of work to do over the last few months that I've not had much time for making videos

Finally found time to have some one to one with this video and my B&B today, amazing results! Happy New Year!
Oh nice one. Happy new year to you too 🥳
Nice video. I'm sure this will help people out a lot.
Thanks Matt, glad you like it 😁
This thing goes deeper then many people think.. Gonna have a lot of happy experimenting.. Cant wait for the next vid! Thanks!!

@@ChrisLodyMusic thanx Chris.. Im back to school with this one comming from the Roland workflow. Bass&Beatz will sound great with the MV-1..

Thankyou!!!! I got one today on my trip & now I can learn 😌 you rock
Glad to help. There's a lot to learn on the Bass&Beats so I hope you have fun 😁
@@ChrisLodyMusicSo you were able to have multiple Bass tracks with different settings? That part wasn’t clear.
@@Myexpectationsarerealistic Not multiple bass parts simultaneously, it's one monophonic bass track per pattern. The settings for the tracks are saved in the pattern
@@ChrisLodyMusic Thanks, that’s unfortunate.
I really like their stuff though.
it's cool that it can change sounds in the sequence. didn't know about that!

it will fit so good with my Black ESX1
Awesome 😁
@@ChrisLodyMusic you should build à sampler one in the same format with à Huge place of samples! that will be à great combo ! 🤩
Yes hopefully Sonicware will do that 😁

Can any of the sonicware stuff create supersaw, also what would be the best sonicware synth dor trance in your opinion?

is there a way to jump between the two different mods wile the sequencer is running ?
Only by hand and then only by cycling through them. That would have been pretty cool as a modulation target thinking about it
@@ChrisLodyMusic a little update!
Well I imagine there is a reason it hasn't been done. Switching engine interrupts the sound so it probably isn't possible to do it seamlessly
Are the accessibility guide and patch creation videos still in the pipeline?
