I’d agree with your comparison between the 2 pretty much sums up my findings also.
Thanks for the info, been wanting to get a different sled this year, and I've been going back and forth between a 36-in ski stands or Ski-Doos 34-in expert. I've been out of sledding for several years and just got back in it last year. So for now I consider myself a beginner to intermediate Rider. I'm looking for something that's easy to ride and takes less effort to get it to go where I want it. Since side hillling seems to be a pretty big part of mountain riding the 34-inch expert seems to probably be about the easiest, other than maybe a Polaris, but I don't trust Polaris enough to take the chance on one.
I have a 23mod ds 3900. Changing the frontend from 36" 34" and changing skiis hoping to get it more like an expert. It is a struggle to ride now, huge differece between expert and shredder ds. The 24 mod shredder ds has 34" front original.
Thanks for that review! Very informative. Also, I think you narrowed the view and on your 360 camera? I'm liking it much better! Great videos!
Thank you very much! And yes I did narrow the view. I had gotten feedback on the wide view so I changed it up, and I'm liking the result. I'm glad to hear you agree! Cheers!
@@Bryce_Cardinal Yes, the shooting is perfect! What camera are you using?
What gear do you use ?
I found mine trenched more than buddies Expert. never had enough time to play with suspension and it was deep no traction powder. Is it the weight penalty of a better skid or did you find a way to lessen the trenching? only got 5 days on mine in Feb.
I ended up tightening my skid suspension all the way and shortened my limiter strap which helped a little bit, but ultimately it struggled in the deep powder.
Be interested to replaced the ski on the lynx with a set of DS 3 or the one on the summit
After watching this video again, now I'm curious why you went for the boost instead of getting an expert? I'm torn between a boost and expert, especially with the P22 clutch bolt issue, powder bog etc.
I just prefer the Matryx chassis over the skidoo chassis. I love how predictable the Polaris is and and how well it holds an edge in the steep technical terrain.
I am fairly new to sledding, but I think I'm a polaris rider too for those exact reasons.
So what about lynx with elevate kit. Then you should get best of both worlds for 800 dollars more.
Im curious how a DS would compare also with the same skis as doo.
This was really comparing a freeride to an expert imo
Absolutely! The DS vs Expert would be a better comparison. The skid of the RE weighs roughly 30lbs more than that of the DS, which is very significant. That extra weight of the skid on the RE is major contributor to causing it to trench so badly. I've heard the lighter DS wasn't nearly as bad.
@@Bryce_Cardinal wow 30lbs! Thats alot! Im starting to rethink a purchase now. I found a leftover 23 RE locally. Curious if im going to be happy with it? Ive owned everything else including a khaos boost.
Debating wether to get an expert now? 🤷♂️
Great info, thanks 🙏
