Amazing Construction, funny in really nice shape what really needs repairing.. looks like built to last forever..

I did explain to the construction manager what I was doing and sought permission to be shown around. It sounded promising but they never got back to me. I was shown the plans and work to be done. But sadly I didn’t ask to video that I it sounded a done deal to make an appointment and go back in safety wear.

😎It’s amazing that Viaduct still exists. It’s actually not too far from where I live. It’s beautiful, just sad it’s not used as a path for anyone to walk in now. Would be amazing if it could still be used.😢

The stuff you describe as Coke and stuff coming out of the Firebox's, is Ironworks slag used as ballast, There is old Film of this line being used up untill closure on the Web somewhere, Cheers.

the footbridge you mentioned as approaching the Maltings was well know to me (I lived just up the nearby field) and the bridge was cast iron so I assume it was removed for the metal content. I often stood on this bridge when the railway was operating.

Thank you for this comment, it helps give lost details. I have not found a photo of it, but have seen it on maps.

That is an impressive viaduct, surely after spending all that money on it they will open it as a footpath..!!!!!

You would think!! But nope. I was speaking to a local. It won’t be opened as a woman jumped off and killed herself. Plus due to the houses underneath it, there is a fear of people throwing things off it. So it’s just an expensive ornament.
