DIY IoT Weighing Scale using Load Cell HX711 & ESP8266 for Remote Weight Monitoring | Blynk

    In this IoT project, we are interfacing 40Kg load cell to the NodeMCU ESP8266 using the HX711 Load cell amplifier module. HX711 is a precision 24-bit analog to digital converter (ADC) designed for weighing scales and industrial control applications to interface directly with a bridge sensor. The HX711 load cell amplifier is used to get measurable data out from a load cell and strain gauge.
    The electronic weighing machine uses a load cell to measure the weight produced by the load, here most load cells are following the method of a strain gauge, Which converts the pressure (force) into an electrical signal, these load cells have four strain gauges that are hooked up in a Wheatstone bridge formation.
    We will make a Weighing Scale Machine which can measure weights up to higher-value like 40KG. We need to calibrate the load cell and find the calibration factor. Once the calibration is done, we can include that factor in our code. Thus this will make the scale precise and accurate. The greater is the mass the greater the error. So we will try to remove the error from the weighing scale. We will finally display the measured weight in the 16×2 I2C LCD Display. We will send the so obtained weight value on the IoT Cloud platform called Blynk Application. Thus, weight can be monitored from any part of the world simply by observation on the Blynk app dashboard.

You could explain that the device between the LCD and the ESP8266 is a I2C module on your breadboard and what does it do in the project.

    in the arduino code how was the baud rate in the serial.begin() determined? for the esp8266 we need 9600 and for hx711 we need 57600

    2 questions.
    Is there a way to do use Bluetooth instead of wifi?
    If I have a Bluetooth scale currently (renpho model) is there a way to pack sniff the signal and pipe it into a custom app?

    can i build this system with 4 loadcells? The critical factor here will be different weights in 4 loadcells. These weights will be displayed separately or in total on the phone or LCD display.

    Good day, I know this is an old video, but would it be possible for you to make an updated version of this using 4pcs Human Scale Load Cell Weight Weighting Sensor 50KG Half-bridge, it would really be a great help to my Grade 8 Son, He doesn't have any prior knowledge of Arduino, but He is thinking of a somewhat similar project for his research paper in school, but he needs a design somewhat similar to a bathroom scale, with remote connectivity via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. With a working sample It would be easier for him to learn and analyze what and how it works. Unfortunately, I also don't have any knowledge of Arduino so I can't teach him what to do. Thank you and hoping you still have time and chance to update this.
