Carl, you can use a wash or paint on the most to change the color. I did it with one that I was trying to make it darker. Great job. I can’t wait for the 10 minute videos series.🍁🎃🍁
Thank you Carl for doing these tutorials. This is so helpful for us newbies. Can't wait to see the last tutorial with how you do the wiring for the street lamps. Many thanks!
Sir you are an inspiring fellow. I came here for some tips on the brickwork and 2 hours/several videos later I’m here talking myself into a “just a small” Halloween village😆😆. Thanks for the great tips and informative tutorials!
Beautiful just beautiful and i love the houses you picked and the people. I am at the part where I need the lights also so I will be glad to see the next soldering tip, they just don’t make the cords long enough.
Hey Carl I love your a displays ❤ I would like recommend matte medium, black ink and flow aid or just use a bit of dish soap and it makes a great black wash that sinks perfectly into cracks🧡🧡
My composition skills have improved so much from watching your videos. I used to have my Lemax houses displayed cluttered in a row but now I have made them into 2x2 displays with lots scenery that go well together or on their own. Now I display them anywhere I can find a spot instead of trying to cram them on to one table! Thanks so much! 🎃
The one rookie mistake I regret about my vignette is not deciding beforehand where it would go & making it fit that space. I just took a piece of foam from my garage & went with it. I just finished my cemetery and the foam its on is bigger than my table that it sits on. Just knowing that my display would change as my collection grew made it impossible for me to commit to placement for each crypt on my display. Maybe it would have made more sense to make a smaller cemetery with dedicated spots for the crypts & just switch between crypts. I guess hindsight is 20/20.
I feel ya-hindsight is almost certainly 20/20. I now always figure where the display will go and build it to that size. Changing out crypts each year is an amazing idea!
Love all your displays esp this one because I have very few houses. Was wondering if you should put another layer of the sidewalk to raise it up and fill in the gap. Won’t green moss show?
Hi Carl! You quickly mentioned that you have a video about the bushes featured here. I tried one of the older tutorials you had about creating bushes with the polyfill, and mine didn't turn out so hot, haha! Are these yellow bushes from floral? Do you have a link to video ? As always, your videos are inspirational and extremely helpful to beginners. Thank you SO much!
Looks great! I especially like the tree/swing accessory in the park. I recently snagged Hazel's Haunted House on the cheap, but it's missing Hazel herself :( It is my favorite resin house though.
@susancoursey-bf3eh nope, just found a roll of it on Amazon. Grip Tape - Heavy Duty Anti Slip Tape for Stairs Outdoor/Indoor Waterproof 4Inch x 35Ft Safety Non Skid Roll for Stair Steps Ramp Traction Tread Staircases Grips Adhesive Non Slip Strips Walk Black a.co/d/a5IxzTS

Wow. Love the detail. I could see that piece as a spring or Easter piece with the green moss. Looks amazing.

The best part is decorating! Beautiful!
Thank you!!

You could do either-the green moss would just look like grass, so I think it would blend fairly well.
Love the scene! I bought that awesome Tree & Swing last month to put in a similar spot.
Good deal-worked great there!!

What kind of tape did you use for the “road”? I’m brand new to villaging. 🤪
Antiskid tape-should have said in the video?!
Thank you! I did hear that but since I’m a newby with all of this, I was wondering brand or where you got it? Not dept 56 or anything?
@susancoursey-bf3eh nope, just found a roll of it on Amazon.
