@@jamhot8243 definitely sounds and looks better than all the porches under 90k went with 16 convertible over 718 and am happy though as a German I’ll definitely have to get a porche next
@@jamhot8243 A Cayman is the better drivers car and I believe the build quality is far better. The F-Type is heavy as f**k. My wife want me to sell the car, but when you have the car and you're still watching videos about it... and also I don't wanna re-buy it in few years twice the price 😨
Good video, thank you. We need James May to explain why the V6 sounds better than the V8. (I have the V6). I also have a V twin Ducati that sounds far better than any four cylinder bikes that I have ever owned. Certainly a case for less is better. A bit like ladies jumper bumps. 😁
GTR's sound pretty poor from the factory, even with an exhaust i probably wouldn't put them in the top 5 best sounding v6's. The turbos just dilute and flatten the sound way too much.
@@axeami1354 Absolutely right they sound like vacuums stock until you put an exhaust. My 2017 sounds amazing but they are Top 5 turbo 6’s if we’re talking N/A 6 Porsche owns that.

well no problems so far! the V6 are quite reliable. the workmanship might not be the best in class but that’s not what the car is about. It’s so much more exciting and much more emotional then a germany car could ever be (apart from the Porsche GT3‘s maybe) you won’t regret it
I owned a V6 f type 5 years ago and drove it from the UK to Monaco. Total mileage for the trip was bang on 2500 miles. It never had any issues. 5 years later I'm going to get an f type SVR in a few months to replace my recently sold M4. No other car I've had since the f type has given me that enjoyment level. If you can afford it though spring for the v8. There is no comparison in every metric.
My dad used to own a 996 for about 20 years. It was quite reliable until it reached about 80k km. after that everything started go south. We even had to change the engine due to IMS problems. Later on it started getting random problems, so he decided to sell it. I now own a F type v6 s, and it could not be more reliable. Already at 60k km without any issues. This car is wayyyy much more fun than the 996 used to be. And it's much more exclusive compared to any 911 (exept gt3, gt2rs etc.). Go for it, it's a bargain of a decade!
Have a ~10yo V6S (2014 model). Hasn't thrown a code. Hasn't had any suspension issues. No electronics issues (for which British cars are so famous - I do charge it every two weeks with a batter tender, though, to keep *both* batteries in good health). No creaks or rattles. Besides routine maintenance, the only thing I'm going to change is the water pump and connecting hoses as it's dropping below min levels ever so slowly (I need to top it off every 6 months or so). It's normal, after 10 years, considering how hot these cars can get and the abuse they take (if you drive them properly). Overall, most reliable car I've ever had... My advice: Get a reputable indie to work on it. They are easy to work on and you'll likely get better service/value.
@@BenR99 don't listen to him, stock sounds amazing 😃 If you want you could give "ModStock" a try, a couple of V6 guys in our local F-Type group got their stock exhaust midded by him and it sounds great. It's still the stock exhaust but modded so is sounds louder in dynamic mode. 🙂
@@BenR99 Stock is great but listen to a V6 with a Remus catback System for example. Its almost two or three times louder and deeper. At High revs it sounds like a Racecar
Ok effort, but this is really not good sound capture and no where near the best capture of an ftype sound. I think the OP has confused the experience of being IN an FType hearing the engine and exhaust first hand with the art.of capturing that sound for digital video/sound. Two different things. Remake the video with better sound equipment and one mic taped at the rear just above the exhaust. You have the tunnels. Its bound to sound epic. The captured sound in this posted video does not. what year mate? i heard the 2018 onwards have OPF and they don't sound as good as the older ones
This one is 04/2018 no OPF. All cars starting from 08/2018 have OPF.
