    Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
    AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

I like this. I can relate. I discovered that I waa a artist before I came a artist. When I go to places, every dialogue of conversation & action I hear and see, I utilize that...

Glad that experience seems to be universal! Ever since I was little I always saw the world in a cinematic way-- different ways to frame something, or looking at something in the same way it would be shot on film...

This mans childhood was my childhood jeeze. At a young age I drew like crazy then decided to form a narrative of it.

I do not use stories released by Hollywood to make sense of the world. I use stories released by Hollywood for entertainment and escapism. It's about avoiding the adult responsibilities of critical thinking or reflection so I can have pleasure in narrative.

If you watch Hollywood movies, then you watch stories with lessons, which in turn inform you how to make sense of the world. You might think it's all entertainment and escapism, but that's because you weren't able to identify or articulate the lesson the movies have taught you. Even superhero movies have lessons (ie. "with great power comes great responsibility"), they're just hidden in the explosions.

I think there might be some truth in what you're saying. However, I wince at the idea of incorporating Hollywood's values into my own because movies are a director's medium and many directors are atheistic and radically left. I dislike incorporating personal ideology into movies. As an example of what I mean, I'd direct you to Amazon to check out the free sample of a film studies textbook called Understanding Movies 14th Edition by Louis Giannetti. Chapter 10 discusses the sort of ideology Hollywood sometimes peddles in, and I'd prefer these types keep their sexual ethics to themselves.

I would point out that Hollyweird is NOT exactly the narrative source he was talking about in the vid'.
      Example 1:
      My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas... {narrative/mnemonic}
Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Pluto {result/memorized} AND sense is made.
A mnemonic is an OBVIOUS and easy start here. But we subconsciously create our own narratives without even bothering to think about it. In daily life, we personify our pets with personality traits that they can't possibly have, since their brains simply aren't that sophisticated... Yet, we make sense of their activities because of that narrative. It's not a matter of fact/fiction or true and fake or right or wrong. We humans have a deeply visceral connection with narrative.
For an Example 2... I'd point out cases in court. You're free to research all you like, but you will find a staggering statistic in regards to Jury Trials. When the Prosecutor could create a compelling narrative, he tends to win. When he simply spews fountains of facts, statistics, and scientifically founded data, he tends to lose... no narrative, no chance.
Similarly, defense attorneys will tell you that your chances of getting a charge dismissed in a major trial (say...murder) are increased exponentially if you can include in your defense an addendum, "The REAL killer is..." so the jury has a narrative sense of "I/we know what REALLY happened."
It's a psychological fact that people are inherently manipulable through narrative just as much as they create little narratives all on their own for what sense they want to make of the world around them. It's where a huge amount of myth, legend, lore, and fable comes from.
Hollyweird definitely exploits this aspect, as does the MainStream Media. They don't have to necessarily create the story, but through clever wordings, mischievous turns of phrase and creative bombardments of visual and imagery, they can psychologically instill or dismiss what they want to some degree. Now, it's debatable just how far the film makers can potentially reach against one's personal beliefs and subjective rank and file understandings of the world at large, but only back to the 80's in many areas, sexual ambiguity was a violence-worthy outrage. It was improving in the 90's, BUT now, even insulting someone for a sexual orientation (or lack thereof) is potentially criminal... worthy of arrest, prosecution, and worse. SO I would definitely warn against dismissing the use of narrative and inherent subscriptions to narrative, no matter how subtle or insignificant, in their contributions to how we (humans in general) understand and interact with the world around us. It is, after all, a very large world, and a positively insurmountably huge quantity of information. ;o)

Funny. I saw a thumbnail to his vid before. Did not click it; based on the name “Anatomy of Chaos” I assumed it was just another pretentious 17 year old.
