The first has the kids fighting angels in a school setting... but more directly, with weapons they wield instead of giant robots. (Asuka has a whip. Shinji has a GUN. Thanks for giving some awareness to those "vintage now" computer and video games related to the Evangelion franchise. Along with that post 2010s (question mark) Evengelion Beyond traveling play. Plus that Tamagotchi like Angel care game is how the Digimon franchise should've of origination months before Taichi, Iori and others were given their model sheeted TV anime character designs (sarcasm, but keep the pink coloured poo for the boys. ;) ) Like I image an American Ralph Bakshi would be more proud on how far Hideaki Anno has grown as a person resume wise than that John "Kricfalusi" person, maybe that Nobuhiro Watsuki as well. I'm surprised you didn't mention the "Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4D" ride at Universal Studios Japan 🇯🇵, which is a more fleshed out scenario of Shin Godzilla fighting EVAs, specifically the three main ones piloted by Shinji, Asuka, and Rei. They introduced a Shin version of King Ghidorah called Shin Ghidorah, which they gave away little toy figures of after you finish the ride. Probably at the gift shop for the ride. So, this ride/short film wasn't just Shin Godzilla fighting EVAs, it was also Shin Godzilla fighting Shin Ghidorah, and the EVAs having to team up with Shin Godzilla to stop Shin Ghidorah, though Shin Godzilla ultimately strikes the final blow at the end. I've never been to the ride myself, and the only reason why I know all this is that someone recorded the video of the entire ride and film on phone or camcorder (probably a phone), and posted it on UA-cam. It sounds really cool, and I kind of wish this was ride/short film was expanded further and made into a full feature film.

I really enjoy the Evangelion Anima novels and i have no idea why. On paper, i should dislike its weird choices and clusterfragged story but its fun? It feels like what wouldve happened if the Rebuild series was made by Roger Corman
If you ever need ideas, you can do a compilation of animus that were inspired by Evangelion. And not forget to include Eureka Seven, since it is essentially an extraverted optimistic Evangelion. Evangelion being a cash cow for Gainax is not a good thing. The manga was not ongoing because of all the great ideas, but to make money. And the rebuild movies are a mess in and of themselves (while requiring you to watch the original for the changes to feel like they have meaning).

While not actually connected the seeds for Evangelion are very present near the very end of Nadia. I was actually surprised when I saw the giant being called Adam. Plus some of the music from Nadia makes an appearance in Evangelion as well.
RahXephon could pass as an Eva spinoff. 😂😅 Eureka 7, too. P.S. I actually haven't seen Eva yet (it's on my watchlist), but I plan to see it, and I've seen enough video essays and clips from it to understand why it's so significant in the history of anime. I just think it's sad that fans so easily dismiss both Rah and Eureka 7 as "reductive" Evas, whereas they also have incredible animation and music and interesting characters, even if their stories aren't perhaps as well crafted as Eva's.
I dont think eureka 7 is trying to be eva is absolutely more so trying to be a gundam show its even 50 eps like a gundam show and made by ex sunrise people (bones) RapXephon has its own merits too though i think the only thing i tend to hear about it online is it's like Evangelion to the point if i ever did bring up RehXephon id probs have to title the video like that myself to get people to watch it
Great video STEVEMelon, but making your list of good spin offs a review of different hentai doujinshis in increasing weirdness in fetishes order was very crass.
I am way too familiar with far too many of these and this is exactly why I don't care for Rebuild 3 and 4. They felt like another cynical spin-off, but looks, it´s "official" now. Kaoru - The Movie, a new 4th girl, in your face fanservice, the apocalyptic setting multiple previous versions end with. Put all that in a blender and RoE is what you get. Warmed up hyper commercial detritus. FF VII´s remake series ended up with the very same issues. Your IP either dies a hero or lives long enough to become a Purple Monkey Dishwasher. The 14 vol pachinko mange was new to me though. Jesus. I would rather spend time with the striptease game.
@How come you didn't cover the official 2001 digital hentai callander. 2001! It´s on the Internet Archive... I am one of those people who like the manga more than the anime. Too bad about its artists. There is always something with Gainax. Edit: There is also a 2002 calendar. A sub-franchise it it´s own right!
And that is how you are wrong. This over commercialization isn't something new, these ideas aren't from the rebuild, they are born together with evangelion, its not 10 years later, it is sometimes in the same year or 2 years later, he ignored lots of materials, but it was there since the beginning. They just got super good at it.
I don't know if you do requests but, I would feel bad for not trying so... I'd like to suggest The manga and anime BECK MONGOLIAN CHOP SQUAD. I think it would be interesting because of the mangaka, who is also the creator of GORILLA MAN, a gag manga so far away from BECK and was somewhat successful in Japan. The other reason is the production of BECK it seemed like it was well produced, the music were written by musicians for the anime and unlike most animes the brands of the instruments weren't parodies i.e. McDonald's →Wacdonarudo. If not an episode just about BECK. maybe an episode on music animes 課長王子 BLACK HEAVEN, BECK, K-ON, ぼっち・ざ・ろっく!BOCHI THE ROCK I got inspired to write this comment after watching your episode on this and FLCL. THANK YOU FOR GREAT EPISODES! keep it up! 応援しているぜッ!!!
im more likely to do a video on music anime in general yeah since there's a lot that could be featured as you've mentioned there including on gaku or blue giant, gauche the cellist etc

Also there are crazier promotions Eva has taken part in, alongside the Pachinko Machines, but ig it's still not enough to wager an entire video. Anyways, looking forward to your future stuff!
Damn so the real plot of evangelion lies in pachingelion, and the anime is really just side media to advertise the real product
You've uncovered the secrets of evangelion
Where did the Meitantei Evangelion go?
It's completely untranslated and super heavy on the text
@@Stevem
That is fair.
3rd girl is my new band name
very nice
If it's a metal band, it could be called 5th horseman
We Have an Evangelion 2, But what about a Evangelion 3?
coming soon?
You mean Anima?
Do you think Nadia works into the Evangelion ecosphere?
There's struggles with that since Nadia is owned by nhk bad they'll restrict what can be done
While not actually connected the seeds for Evangelion are very present near the very end of Nadia. I was actually surprised when I saw the giant being called Adam. Plus some of the music from Nadia makes an appearance in Evangelion as well.
those ideas come from documents which go all the way back to the Gunbuster days
Sound seems a bit odd or low compared to other videos :(
It's lav audio but it sounds alright to me
RahXephon could pass as an Eva spinoff.
I dont think eureka 7 is trying to be eva is absolutely more so trying to be a gundam show its even 50 eps like a gundam show and made by ex sunrise people (bones)
RapXephon has its own merits too though i think the only thing i tend to hear about it online is it's like Evangelion to the point if i ever did bring up RehXephon id probs have to title the video like that myself to get people to watch it
seeing you dressed as gendo made me realize i may have the best kind of daddy issues 😳 (lol sorry, it had to be said 🤣)
Is this what it means to open your heart to your Eva
@@Stevem perhaps... if you'll enter my entry plug? 🤣 (ok i have a billion more of these questionable puns, but i'll quit while i'm still ahead lol)
24:23 My God who is she?
Lol she's the main girl in the play
woop woop
Yeah nothing can beat godzilla x evangelion
Dawg, please balance the audio
Great video STEVEMelon, but making your list of good spin offs a review of different hentai doujinshis in increasing weirdness in fetishes order was very crass.
Can't say I'm not thorough
You should really watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes if you haven't
bit random
Why
Did you read evangelion genocide?
Isn't that fan fiction
@@Stevem yeah but I've heard it's good
@@killmonger7491I had enough official media to go through already so no I didn't touch any fan fiction
@@Stevem fair enough
RE-TAKE
I'm not covering fan porn
It's current year and people still mispronounce her name.
WHO???
As for me, the worst spin-off of Evangelion was Darling in the Franxx's. Hello from Russia
*Ты просто не шаришь!*
(знаю про франкс только изза мемов)
No it had one of my best friends in the English dub.
read the manga it has a better new ending
It's hardly a bad anime
there's also a eva hanime.
Hanime?
@@Stevem yes
@@nathanielduncan4692are you referring to ero works I don't think most of that is official
@@Stevem yeah i am, the title of it is Evangelion Human Salvation project.
@@nathanielduncan4692it's not official so I don't really care
No eva genocide mention 0/10
Nice clothes
Thank you

I don't know if it's cynical in the same way, but to live within a market where you have a studio involves a cash flow for sure
@How come you didn't cover the official 2001 digital hentai callander. 2001! It´s on the Internet Archive...
I am one of those people who like the manga more than the anime. Too bad about its artists. There is always something with Gainax.
Edit: There is also a 2002 calendar. A sub-franchise it it´s own right!
why do you think i didnt cover a calandar i cant even show in the video lol
And that is how you are wrong. This over commercialization isn't something new, these ideas aren't from the rebuild, they are born together with evangelion, its not 10 years later, it is sometimes in the same year or 2 years later, he ignored lots of materials, but it was there since the beginning. They just got super good at it.

Thankssss
Eva is truly one of the anime merch franchise ever made...... 😅😅😅😅
yep keeps the lights on
I don't know if you do requests but,
I would feel bad for not trying so...
If not an episode just about BECK.
maybe an episode on music animes
課長王子 BLACK HEAVEN, BECK, K-ON, ぼっち・ざ・ろっく!BOCHI THE ROCK
I got inspired to write this comment after watching your episode on this and FLCL.
THANK YOU FOR GREAT EPISODES!
keep it up! 応援しているぜッ!!!
im more likely to do a video on music anime in general yeah since there's a lot that could be featured as you've mentioned there including on gaku or blue giant, gauche the cellist etc
