I’ve had many a treacherous swim around Shark Island but always feel more comfortable in the water than above it. You showed some balls getting in with those conditions and what great footage! Lotta respect
This is the real thing, love the reality of the production ! Gnarly launch......big heart ! Great windsurfing ! Kudo ...thank you and keep producing these amazing videos !
I absolutely LOVE that you only have the sound of the waves in the background!! (Most windsurf videos just have some rock music playing which completely destroys the experience) How did you record that sound? Separate microphone placed at the shore? It is also great that you show all parts of windsurfing in waves (falling in when wind drops, waterstart, getting back out, etc). Most people don't know about these parts because the typical videos only show people dropping in perfect waves. This video is so enjoyable to watch. Slow paced and soothing
Claudio Silvestrin Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the slower pace. The drone can’t record sound so I have to put sound in after in editing. On the editing program there are special effects sounds so I just use those instead of recording the actual ocean because it all just gets a bit complicated and plus I need my phone to fly the drone so I don’t have a second recording device.
Dude I think this is the first windsurfing video I’ve watched were the wipe out’s are not edited out, this is what windsurfing is really like. Nice theres no crap music to🤙
Awesome photography and sailing. Launching from the rocks was amazing but sphincter clenching . There are some great spots for launching off the rocks on the northern beaches too but I'm way too chicken to try that. Freshwater point( queenscliff bombie) could be good spot if you want to jump of the rock shelf. makaha too
I love the "Instant Replay" bit! LOL! Loving seeing and hearing raw footage for a change. Pretty marginal conditions. I expect most Windsurfers have experienced that. Good Social Distancing too!
Hi Hendreh1, yes I have lost a few drones now. 2 were from stupid mistakes from me and the other was a drone malfunction and it just dropped out of the sky. I use the drones up to about 30 knots usually.
We sailed Shark Island in a southerly a few times about 30 years ago...the break knocks the wind out just the same as this. The bigger the surf the more holes. It's not that much fun and it's hard work. I don't think my knees could do it now. Well done for having a go though. Launch from Sandshoes would be easier.
What a schlepp to get going. Hats off! With a kite the issues would be less re: launch. Also, kite windrange far outweighs that of a Windsurf sail. Don't get me wrong, I windsurfed for 15yrs before switching. No comparison.
I’m not so sure that wind range is more with a kite. With one sail you could be float and riding in 10 knots and still be using it in 25. You can’t float and ride with a kite.
At 12:45 --> it is good to have a sail because the others without are just laying in the water waiting for .... while he is chasing every wave there is 👌
Wow that spot looks so gnarly and the launch... water start must have felt like an eternity! Every video you make keeps me inspired bro!! This is defo the UA-cam’s best windsurfing channel hands down . . . 🤙🤙🤙
Probably sharky but best not to think about it haha. Go to end of video you’ll see the beach he came in on. Wasn’t easy to get it there are rocks scattered around there too.
Damn. That was super impressive. Just the level of skill to make that launch is amazing. I'm guessing 85ltr board, 4.2 sail and tiny wave fin(s)? Also looked like the current was from right to left at the launch? And I thought the launch at Hookipa was challenging. Wow. Thanks for the great drone and video footage. I agree with the others that no music is 100x better.
Damn. I've done sketchy launches but that's the sketchiest launch in flukey wind that I've ever seen or done myself. Sure would have liked to see how he came in.
Paul you make the best edits and videos. As said before Redbull Storm Chase should have you on their team! What drone do you use if you don’t mind me asking?
I could'nt work out how it was so onshore lining up then cross shore as he drops in........then I saw the overhead! Such a great angle. Goes a bit fat on the high tide?
Man, I'll never complain about launch areas again... Amazing.

Cheers mate all credit to Duncan the crazy bastard out there ha!
Another great video. Duncan's style is amazing. Great viewing.
That was really enjoyable well done. I’ll be coming back to this video again.

Martin Bailly thanks mate!
Yeah that launch doesn't look sketchy at all 😂 noice 😎
First word that came to my mind
What a technical start they gave me some great ideas at my spot
Super chulo y original. Gran pilotaje del drone.
Gracias compañero !!

Rich Lander 👍
Thank you for being real and posting amazing content. Wish you good wind and waves! :)
Gread vid. Like it to see all that work behind that waveride, getting in and out, catching waves...
Great. It’s just like a movie for me.
Beautiful video, wonderful sounds. Brave windsurfer!
Dude, the rock-off was a mission in itself! Awesome sailing and footage 👍🔥🌊 13:42 Sick to see it wrap around from that angle!!
Sick man !!!
Tanks for the video !!!
Thank you for the good video. What could be better than windsurfing on good waves. And it's right that you left the ocean noise.
Great vid! Thanks. I waited on you for a nice windsurfing vid for quite some time now !
1:46 desperate moment of water start... Very nicely saved the sail. Need to learn that for myself.
🤙
I love these beautiful long shots, it's so enjoyable to watch.
Thanks so do i
No music, just ocean and wind...
Nice video, nice condition , no music only wind & wave. 💓
Thanks ✌️
EXELLENT!!!!!!! I felt that it was there!!!!!! 3D Experience
Such a relief to see a surfing video without any awful music playing or weird time lapses. Thanks!
✌️
I love your cutbacks right in front of the rocks - Amazing lucky launch timing - you know the spot :-D Great Windsurfing!!
Mad respect on that drone footage
Thanks mate!

Amazing..those are big waves...well done.
These vids are so awesome.
Feel like I’ve sailed the spot myself now.
Sharing with my surf / windsurf buds.
chopchopbc cheers!
Certainly the guy has big cojones, what a launch to the cold breaking ocean!
Barely enough power too.
Great and brave sailor🤙
the hand of Paul on the drone, amazing dude

It's good that you weren't tempted to add a sound track. Wise head.
Nice stuff. Clearly takes guts to launch at the start.
I love the "Instant Replay" bit! LOL! Loving seeing and hearing raw footage for a change. Pretty marginal conditions. I expect most Windsurfers have experienced that. Good Social Distancing too!
Incredible drone footage!
Light wind, sharks,, huge shorebreak on the rocks quite a cocktail
Hi Paul has your done ever fallen into the Water ? how much wind can it handle? Greetings from Germany.
Hi Hendreh1, yes I have lost a few drones now. 2 were from stupid mistakes from me and the other was a drone malfunction and it just dropped out of the sky. I use the drones up to about 30 knots usually.

Would love to have heard some more words from D. Osborne about his thoughts when the wind died , missing the set wave etc.
Brilliant stuf as usual!
Yeah I need to do that in future 👍
Wonderful video, sound of wind and waves and the entrance and exit views. Board and sail size?
Cheers Tomás! 92L & 4.9

Rendo12 thanks for the kind words cheers!
this guy is having fun nice one
Great stuff, credit to both of you.
Damn.....I got more thrilled seeing this guy launching than watching Ricardos Monkey Show! (Commented from my cozy couch! :D )
I like it so much mannnnn without edit that's niceeee
Spec-bloody-tacular footage.
I don’t know why it but I find this raw footage really fascinating
low wind, hard to get out. Only for experts ! Respect
Very technical, gusty and rocky (sharky as well?). I wonder how he got out of the water ?? (same way as he came in?)
Probably sharky but best not to think about it haha. Go to end of video you’ll see the beach he came in on. Wasn’t easy to get it there are rocks scattered around there too.
Looks like a few more knots of wind would have been nice.
I've launched at quite a few sketchy places, that looks like it rates right up there.
That's freaking solid sailing. Great talent dude
congratulations!!!!!!SHOW!!!!
great footage!

Happy you enjoyed the video Dan! Was a 92L and 4.9
So nice that it is raw footage!! Why not film the exit?
I missed it I was back at the car changing batteries!
Paul van Bellen Really well done guys. Way more enjoyable then the action porn from other windsurf movie where u only see the best turns, jumps, etc.
great footage! great sailing! Congratulations.
Could you tell us about the equipment that you used( board size, volume, length, sail size etc)?
2020 Quatro Pyramid 92L, 4.9 Hot sail KS3 I think?
Congratulations 👏👏👏
that's quite a launch spot!
does the drone just follow him or what great footage
Amazing
Glad you liked it mate!
How did he land back?
BTW - It's great to see some starboard tack wavesailing for once!
selbalamir on a small beach.
Launch doesn't look fun but I guess it's worth it. Also looks gusty with holes. Still fun though I'm sure. Looks like a bigger sail.
Nice waaaves Dude! :)
Great!!!
I can smell minced meat mixed with glass fiber...what a launch...
Damn. I've done sketchy launches but that's the sketchiest launch in flukey wind that I've ever seen or done myself. Sure would have liked to see how he came in.
Yeah I wanted to film his return but at that moment I had already run back to the car trying to change batteries that was on a charger and missed it.
Paul you make the best edits and videos. As said before Redbull Storm Chase should have you on their team! What drone do you use if you don’t mind me asking?
Tomasz Lotocki thanks mate! I use a Mavic 2 Zoom
I get scared launching with a one foot shore break! that guy is next level
I could'nt work out how it was so onshore lining up then cross shore as he drops in........then I saw the overhead! Such a great angle.
Goes a bit fat on the high tide?
Yeah it’s fatter on high tide but is better for wavesailing 🤙
Awesome!
What a session! And great job capturing it from every angle. Mav 2?
Yeah Mavic 2 Zoom 👍
Perhaps the title should be " Surviving Shark Island".
Saw you on the swellnet cam too😂
very light wind close to shore
Hahaha.. that reminds me of the old classic ' we gambled on a tricky launch... Don lost' Glad to see Dunc won 😁
Cheers for sharing vid Ben 😃🤙
Beato te .. meraviglioso spot .. che stupenda giornata .. invidiaaaa

Vivo a Sydney, in Australia.
That launch....
Yes the launch looks sketchy but how on earth did the guy come back to shore without breaking everything?
x l pure talent
The first 3 minutes gave me anxiety
That’s no good 😬
BALLS THE SIZE OF CHURCH BELLS! How many knots was that??
10-30 knots
Brave man ! Launch was rough ! How do you get back on shore ?
End of video you’ll see small beach.
Чувак- ты крут! 🤙🤙🤙
Great stuff what kind of drone were you using nice flying by the way
Cheers mate, I have a Mavic 2 Zoom.
@@windsurfer Thanks so much for the reply hope to see more cheers
👍👍👍🏄🏄🏄
Epic
jump to 6:05 for actual surfing.
That jump was suss, but the wurfing was SIC. It be good if they could have them windy south days 2 surf the point as well...💨Baaaaah lmfao

Sketchy af doesn't look like a pro either but looks like he's enjoying it
the filmed every second...except how he got out at the same spot.
I was back at the car charging drone batteries and he just happened to come in at that time so I missed it..sorry!
