Thank you for the videos but this one in particular. I installed a shift kit with your help and got my 46RE in a 1998 Dodge Ram Van Conversion shifting perfectly. It was shifting poorly but after adjusting the bands, installing the shift kit, and general maintenance it functioned flawlessly driving from the West coast to the East coast. You make the best instructional videos for transmissions, period.
The only phrase I can think of for a transmission is "Mechanism Of The Universe"! I've watched this entire series, best I've ever seen on detail and teaching correct methods for a transmission tear down and rebuild. TY Sir!
Just wanted to say thank you for your amazing videos and inspirational "comeback" win one for the gipper motivational discussion at the start of the video. Lee Iacoca was incredible. BLESS
Man it would be great if you could do one of these classes on a Ford C6. Your videos are so informative and very good quality. Thanks for taking the time to teach.
Thanks for all your videos I want to know how can I remove a valve body for a jeep grand cherokee Laredo 2004 I have to replace a solenoid valve body and I don't know how to remove it from the transmission
Great videos, but nothing on the common shift corrector kits, fixes, etc for the no lube at idle etc... Also im really interested in adding more clutches and steels in everywhere possible for more tq capacity
Great video! Almost all is exact with my trans, but I have no "spring" on the valve that has the "clip", and my "clip" has an additional prong. Almost seems like there wouldn't be enough room for that spring. Also, the next valve he removes after the one with the clip- is literally not installed, nor the "plug" mentioned at the one end. This is around frames 31:10. Any ideas?
I was just wondering where you get your information for twerking your bolts and is there any kind of pattern you should follow but other than that I really like your videos I will be purchasing some of your products you're really inspire me to work on one of these things
5:19 "Because of these precision tolerances, you should always remove the valves and springs from the upper and lower valve body sections, and clean them in mineral spirits, separately. Once again, this is _the_ very important reason for the complete disassembly of the valve body." I'm confused, because you _didn't_ completely disassemble either the upper valve body section (manual valve and shuttle valve not removed); or the limit valve assembly.
For whatever reason, mineral spirits are no longer available in California. Is denatured alcohol an acceptable substitute, or is there something else you'd recommend?
Its probably too late now, but I obtained four gallons at Home Depot yesterday in Bakersfield. Although the shelf was empty the employee had to get some off the top level with the high stairs. (Should have used a forklift to stock the shelf too.)
The mineral spirits you can find at Home Depot and Bakersfield California and it's probably on its way out because California does not like the high vocs
My Jeep isn't wanting to shift in to second. But if I manually shift it shifts fine but. Around 50 it starts pulling down hard. And do believe it only shifts into 3rd maybe 4th definitely won't go into 5th and pretty sure only goes into 3rd any suggestions.?
these transmissions don't have a 5th gear, perhaps it's not locking the torque converter? It's sounding like an electrical problem to me, if you haven't figured it out after a year lol
Could someone please help me? When servicing my transsmission, the Trans Pressure Sensor Transducer retaining clip broke. I can't find it anywhere I've been to many trans shops. Does anyone know where I can find a part like this?
When I put my transmission in reverse it's fine when I put it in drive it feels like there is nothing there almost like the linkage isn't hook up but it is I it will not move in drive just put all the gasket and seal's and all the friction plates can someone tell me what's going on
Can't get any better with the lighting, camera, descriptions, and explanations. Very good reference.

I almost lost mine also - I would figure that you would have to special order that part thru a dodge dealership.
