A superb group led by the incomparable Bud Shank! Fischer is splendid on the piano extending the melody line with great skill! Timeless presentation by the masters of jazz.

Clare Fischer and Bud Shank! Amazing! They were both influenced by the Konitz / Tristano school (and what great musician wasn't?), but Clare's solo on this is so wonderfully chromatic! And the ways that he played with resolutions of the improvised lines within the changes...wow! And that is just one aspect of his genius. His solo ballads defy musical logic, but are profound in their beauty.
You all might enjoy this track. I can still remember exactly where I was standing more than 60 years ago when my friend said, "John, you really have to hear this." He was right. The resolutions are hardly rocket science . All are straight out of the bop school.
