It depends on the area you live. If you are living in the plains, ordinary cycle is best. Gear cycle is of no use in the plains. In hilly area gear cycle is of use and if it is too hilly, it is a must. Ordinary cycle has no maintenance, but gear cycle has lot of maintenance.
