Sweet video, I filled my first card in the salt, ready to try the river after the 20th closing, only tried once and didn't have any luck but did see some fish last year.
Was at the skagit this morning and it was dead. No fish in sight... I'm from Maui so I don't know what I'm doing, but none of the locals were catching either.
With this rain in the forecast, it should push fish into the river systems. Maybe they're a little higher on the Skagit. Keep at it and the best of luck to you.
I live in mount vernon don’t go to that spot go far down by Walmart then park by the side go Up the hill and go down to the rocks that spot is HOT I got a secret spot that some locals know about by sedro you gotta walk thru the back trails and leads u to the river in the back Hot spot too
Orcas main diet is chinook salmon. These guys are fishing in a river. The orcas don’t go into the river, they stay out in the salt water. He is not taking orca food !The orcas get their chance in the salt, not a fresh water river!
You could be right. But it had Black jaw line and Spots all over the tail and it was wild. So my brain thinks Chinook salmon cant undo what I say. I Just wanted to get it unhooked and back to spawning. Cant Keep anything wild in the Skagit.
ohh heard. yeah you can see it’s a silver at 2:32 cuz the upper lip/ jaw is white. nice video tho it’s crazy how fast the pinks hook up here & big rock
@@gavinwillard When I was editing the video even I was second Guessing what I said in the video. The tail spots are so dominate I didn't even take the time to really look at the fish While trying to release it. Either way it was a nice fish. Thanks for Watching.

this looks so awesome bro.. i was stationed in whidbey and i miss that area. is this near burlington?
lol I fish here to
Is that Dalles bridge?
Yeah. Been fishing the Day Creek area. Gotta wade through the Humpies to get to the Silvers. Rain helps.
Can you keep both wild and hatchery coho there?
Yes you can.

Thanks for the info. I will have to try that next time I head out that way.
Can you do a vid on humptulips? Debating on when to head down there…
Frickin good day , nice catches , must a been a native king at beginning of video, that sucked let it go
Another awesome video! Are you doing a slow retrieve I can’t tell because I can’t see the reel. Tight lines🤝
Yes, slow retrieve letting the current do most of the work
You had a good morning there.
It was a blast.
Orcas main diet is the Coho salmon. Resident Orcas are dying.

Good video! Where is this at? I’m current fishing the Snohomish but it’s so packed I’m looking to try the Skagit.
between Burlington and Mt.Vernon.
I’m gonna have to get some kastmasters! What colors and size you recommend? 🤙🏽
I was using 3/4 or the 1oz Gold kastmaster. Change up the colors Coho's Like a different color.
From Vancouver BC do these rivers have any wild cohos ? Or all Hatcheries?
plenty of wilds, they are protected so retention is limited.
Awesome video! Are you allowed to net the fish instead of walking it to the sandbar?
Thank you. Yes you can net them. We didn't have one, so I just keep them in water and quick release with a barbless hook.
Nice job! Swing by the lscc and I'll get you out in the Raptor and you can go ham on some coho
They just stocked up tilton, you should make a video there
That is a idea. We camp in Morton every year so I know the river.
@@apoutdoorsPNWthe dump spot is full of fish . But it’s full of people too
Plus 4 on the Dick Nite, what a kick in pants!😊
Would buzzbombs also work here?
Maybe more towards the mouth. but at that spot seems to shallow. But hey, you never know till you try.
No more puyallup? Went out last Saturday got got skunked never again on a weekend rows of fisherman
Yeah I feel you. only way I go is if my dad goes on a Saturday.
that was a coho aka silver. not a king🤣
