Magnatron Boogie with a Hallmark 60 Custom Guitar by Jay Smith

This is one of my original songs I wrote to show off my Lefty Hallmark 60 Custom guitar made by Bob Shade. He was kind enough to make me a set of special pickups with a reverse wind/reverse polarity in the neck pickup so it is hum cancelling in the middle position. During the song, I demonstrate the Neck, Middle, and Bridge positions. I am using a Line 6 Pod XT Live pedal directly into the mixer. Backing track was created by me with my Yamaha MOXF6 keyboard. I am using a Canon AX10 Video Camera. The audio is directly from the mixer to the camera.

A great sounding guitar in all pickup positions. Also a terrific instrumental. When I first heard it I thought that it was something Nokie Edwards would have done as it is certainly his style, but then to find out it is your own composition really put the shine on it. Certainly one I shall be playing in the future. Thanks Jay.

Thanks Mick, Nokie was a big influence to my style. All my guitar playing has a little bit of Nokie in it. I originally wrote the song for TV Jones pickups. I had a set of Magna'trons in my Gretsch Duo Jet. So I jammed on a boogie track I made so I could show off the sound of the pickups. Bob Shade of Hallmark took a liking to the song as well and asked if I could video the song using his pickups. The pickup in this guitar was custom made to Nokie specs, plus they are hum cancelling. Great sounding guitar. Love to play it.
