Despite being old enough to have been familiar with UA-cam since its inception, I’m like you guys that I never watched Boogie’s content. The documentary was a really fascinating, in-depth look at mental health issues with a level of insight you don’t often get. It was also really well-made. Thanks for the recommendation!
Boogie also lied in most of it. So, like, just go in there knowing that Boogie is actually quite wealthy, and virtually everything he said in the documentary is made-up. Like, he actually went on the Lolcow podcast and threw the guy who made the documentary under the bus by being like "Bro, he should have known better than to believe me," and being countered with "But... You DID lie to him."
The best part about the crypto thing is that he apparently didn't actually lose anything. He put $250k into crypto, then the value went up to $750k, and then back down to $250k. So he technically didn't lose a dollar.
@@DavidSGrop that's a fair enough point I believe the documentary guy said he had first-hand access to boogies financial statements and that yes that was the case but it's all smoke and mirrors so who really knows
There was a whole year where he was being recommended to me by UA-cam. I’d watch sometimes, but I stopped when I noticed he was doing a lot of “woe is me, my life sucks, but don’t you worry about me” type videos. That manipulative tactic of making people feel bad for him. Seems like he thrives on it.
Exactly my story. After the third video you knew something was off, mature people don't indulge in things that embarrass them. It felt like he was supercharging the intimacy setting in the parasocial space, it felt abusive as fuck.
One thing I've noticed is that some people fall into a "pity trap". Whatever problem they have, it could be a disability, weight problem, mental issues, etc. They make their problems into their main character traits. It becomes a main talking point to anyone they meet. Their whole character becomes molded around their problems. I've never really understood why someone would go down this road willingly. I'm in a wheelchair, its very obvious that I'm disabled when people see me. I absolutely do not talk about my disability when meeting new people. I actually do the opposite and just talk about normal stuff. I don't need to explain myself to anyone, and I'd rather people know WHO I am and not WHAT I am. I can't really imagine just meeting someone new and saying: "Hi! My name is Spartan! Here is a long lore dump into all my medical problems!". That's not really any kind of attention I would ever want. I can't really comprehend any of it. *Shrug*
Well, to hear him tell it, he grew up in an abusive household, so maybe he's all fucked up in the head from that. I'm no psychologist, obviously, but I can see how someone wearing their problems like a cross could be a defense/manipulation mechanism to either elicit sympathy, or else just to beat yourself (emotionally) up before others get a chance to. I don't offer that as an excuse, just a possible explanation.
@brianm2881 If you a believe a word he says, it does. I don't. He's milked that cow so many times that I truly believe all of his abuse stories are lies designed to wring more sympathy out of people.
22:06 he didn’t actually work in the porn industry. He designed websites for people in that industry. He purposefully Sabotaged the interview by bringing that up. Whereas he could have said “I used to do web design for seven years.”

Nina is so great and underutilized. I'm guessing she has better stuff to do than to gossip about slobs. The "Mr. Rogers of the internet" nickname says a lot more about the toxic bilge that is the internet than it does Boogie. The reddit megathread was a crazy saga unto itself and it's super convoluted. There was a subreddit called SamandTolki that covered a popular speedrunning couple. Their relationship imploded at one of those GamesDoneQuick meetups and somehow SamandTolki morphed into being about speedrunning drama and goss. Boogie, having basically no involvement with speedrunning, ended up an obsession for SamandTolki. I think the subreddit may have gradually started to cover just random nerd goss. It's been a while. (Insert Creed joke here) Anyway, there was an enormous megathread at SamandTolki that was compiled of Boogie's lies and manipulations. It was way over the top, but the megathread did change a lot of people's perception of Boogie. Boogie is a windbag with no equal, and when he was spiraling he was constantly threatening to harm himself and going through a weekly cycle where he'd make a long, emotional confession about all the things he was doing wrong and then he'd promise to change and it just degenerated into slop from there. Oh yeah, Frank Hassle also made an appearance. That was one of the most hilarious and messed up chapters of the saga. Anyway, love the channel.

17:30 Boogie went on ReviewTechUSA and clarified that all of these numbers are apparently wrong, despite the fact that Boogie had to approve them before release lol. Also. You can't get a 100Sq ft house in Canada for less than like a million dollars right now, so I'll thank you not to try and minimize the catastrophic nature of the legitimate housing crisis happening here.
I watched the documentary and will say that it was magnificently crafted. I hope that the director makes a James Rolfe documentary! Also after watching the documentary I now have zero sympathy for Boogie. He wants to have the life that he currently has. His actions make that crystal clear.
I've never followed Boogie, but he's always been kind of on the periphery of the kind of content I consume so he's been a background character for me for awhile. I think a lot of what you said tracks, but I just want to add that I truly believe on top of everything else that Boogie has a shame/humiliation fetish. I'm not going to say that his fetish is the main or only reason he does things like this documentary as well as the "aren't I just such a liar" behavior you rightly called him out for, but I *do* think this fetish is why he is more than just comfortable with it, but seems to actual revel in the negative attention.
I can’t make heads or tails on whether or not the documentary was meant to be taken seriously. Either this is the most elaborate Andy Kaufman like joke ever out to screen, or Boogie really is that pathetic.
There's a type of person that actually feels most real when put in an embarrassing situation. It's a fucked up thing and it has its origin in childhood as a solution to a narcissistic trauma where the child learns to get attention/love by being pitiful, subconsciously learning to get himself into embarrassing situations and milking them dry for sympathy. My father was like that, and overcoming this paradigm completely was a little unsung accomplishment of mine. Pity is good when appropriate, but it's no substitute for love.

You know, there are people who will cover every inch of their body with tattoos and pre-sell their skin to be mounted and displayed after they die. Maybe he could do that.
Funniest thing is that the documentary couldn't be monetized because of all the copyrighted music. Edit: In the documentary he actually confirms that, during filming of the documentary, he still has $30k in crypto. The 'loss' was him investing a bunch of money in crypto, watching it climb to a huge number, and then from that huge number it went down significantly. But, he never took out any of that money, so it wasn't a 'real' loss. Just watch the documentary again keeping in mind that the whole time he had $30k that he could (and should, it's crypto) take out.
Nah man cryptos about to come back in a year or two. Check the yearly chart. Although I want boogie to pull it out so he can't use the gains on stupid stuff.

Saying that Boogie is 400 pounds is being very, very generous. In that short clip of him on H3H3, which was at the crest of his weight loss, he was floating around 350. At his biggest, Biggie was nearing 650. He has got to be, at the very least, 480.
I downloaded it to my phone so I could watch it on a flight and you wouldn't believe how fast I shut my phone off when it showed that girl crawling all over his naked body
I was mostly involved in atheist to christian confrontations back in 06, and would only check out such popular channels in a fad manner. I've only seen a few of Boogie's videos, and I can't remember anything about them now.

Also. You can't get a 100Sq ft house in Canada for less than like a million dollars right now, so I'll thank you not to try and minimize the catastrophic nature of the legitimate housing crisis happening here.
Dude, your wife's observations were awesome!
I agree! I’m gonna stay married to her!
"From Hookers To Shrooms" lol That should have been the name of the documentary
Is "prostitute" a bad word now?
No. It always was.
I think its for monetization, if you say words like "whore" or "p*rn" or "r*pe" it will automatically flag your video
Lmao @ "It’s my confirmation name” 😂
"I know how old she is,
I've got her ID in my wallet!"
Nothing says "mature relationship" like "I got her ID on me at all times to prove to police officers that she's not 14"
thanks for watching so I didn't have to. Also first time seeing you're wife and she was great!
This documentary should have been titled "Imagine The Smell"
18:28 - actually Boogie was previously pictured with this grabber device in his living room.
This is really pretty insightful. Appreciate you guys for sharing your time & work here on UA-cam.
This message is for Neenah: Nina, I want you to know that your husband and his friend EJ are going to be networth millionaires very soon.
You all are doing a fantastic job. It’s a slow and steady works of passion and love. Foundationally, Red Cow is AWESOME!
Mark my words.
That's true I read the same thing on a fortune cookie
You know, there are people who will cover every inch of their body with tattoos and pre-sell their skin to be mounted and displayed after they die. Maybe he could do that.
My streams whenever i decide to start showing my face will be me drinking from my gallon of water
Awesome Vid!
Thank You very much for Your Work! Greetings from Germany
I mean, magic mushrooms can be mentally healing, but probably not for deep psychosis like Boogie has.
His turnaround was so fake too. "It's all bullshit" ok dude haha
@@kevinhibbard320it reminds me of that Adam Sandler skit where the guy pretends to be high then the other guy is like "that bag of weed was actually oregano"
Big Nina, Frankie and EJ trio vid fan btw
There was a time just before his wife left him that he had a chance to turn things around, and he'd started to lose weight and he seemed to have a healthier mindset, and then he blew it. It's really sad.
I think it's a pretty big problem that the houses being made are too big and expensive for the average person like myself. I live in a relatively cheap city and trying to buy a 1000 square foot house is still too expensive for me sadly
The market in general sucks right now. My wife and I make $100,000 a year, and home ownership is unobtainable because we refuse to buy an 1,500 square foot house for $300,000+.
very entertaining conversation
I can't wait for the sequel about The Croc.
I can’t even begin to imagine what it must feel like to be desire. I’ve been laughed at before and it always feels awful, so I can’t even begin to imagine being laugh at to that degree. I feel really bad for her.
Saying that Boogie is 400 pounds is being very, very generous. In that short clip of him on H3H3, which was at the crest of his weight loss, he was floating around 350. At his biggest, Biggie was nearing 650. He has got to be, at the very least, 480.
“And EJ’s legal name is Boogie” ☠️
Im about Boogies age and him dating a 20 year old is appalling to me.
Good stuff right here fellas (and lady)! 👍🙏🏆
I downloaded it to my phone so I could watch it on a flight and you wouldn't believe how fast I shut my phone off when it showed that girl crawling all over his naked body
I could only watch this doc until he showed his under-under-gunt within the first two minutes and had to turn it off.
ah man that's the best part!
You might be Boogie2988 if your gunt rack has a gunt rack on it.
what am I gonna do with a gunt rack? I don't even own "a" gunt
Let alone many gunts that would necessitate an entire rack. @@zachary_attackery
Boogie kinda sounds like Bimmy
I was mostly involved in atheist to christian confrontations back in 06, and would only check out such popular channels in a fad manner. I've only seen a few of Boogie's videos, and I can't remember anything about them now.
It seems like the size of the trauma corresponds with the intensity of the Cope.

Haha, the only reasonable response, in a situation, like this.@@zachary_attackery
For guys that never watched boogie the impressions are spot on 😂😂
I can’t tell if I’m sad or happy that I’ll probably never inspire such undying, yard working devotion from someone in the way Boogie did.
30:44 let me pull up my health care portal. Hahahaha yeah right not even for tens of thousands of dollars
Damn, from the thumbnail I was really hoping EJ had finally transitioned
I have transitioned. You can call me EThey

EThey and frankbimmie
@Evil_Befall come on, you know it’s Fran-Cis

I take offence to A.Js comment about MTG people 😅
We got Nina! Let’s go!
I'm gonna deepfake EJ standing at the door holding the equalizer
I watched EFAP cover this documentary and the best thing to come out of it was Heelvsbabyface telling he's lost 90 lbs in 30 weeks and that seeing this sadsack has just fortified his commitment to better himself.
As always, nicely covered
I think his career in porn was being a web designer or admin for amateur porn websites
'career'
"sex work" just call them prostitutes
its like when they call a janitor a "custodial technician"
You can do other forms of jobs within sex work other than actual prostitution. Hence then term. "Prostitute" also carries negative connotation, but I presume that's the reason you're eager to use the label. @@zachary_attackery
why does ninja so rarely appear on the podcast? she's totally a natural on it
I agree, and thank you! Honestly it’s because when I’m recording at night she’s either working out or putting Gloria down.
I agree with EJ, the doccumentary relays too much into people already know about the most recent drama about Boogie, and when it makes references, it does without context.
You guys should talk about spoony or wingsofredemption. PLZ!
