Watching this makes me so happy to see other actors living their dream. My heart is racing just watching the passion in his eyes talking about the school of many peoples dream.
The mask class is something I've always wanted to do, but most arts classes don't have an entire lesson for it. I love costumes and masks, because in one costume you're someone entirely different than in another costume.
I visited Juilliard during Thanksgiving break, and it was so amazing. I had visited the school in my dreams, and it felt so right, you know? This video was awesome! It makes me happy to see people who love acting as much as I do 😊❤️
I loved how he walked through his day explaining the process of each class including breaks. I find this to be extremely useful and it shows the dedication and the inspiration each moment has to offer.
This is everything I want. I need to be surrounded by people who have my passion for acting and singing. I’m not sure why but I just feel like I’m flying when I do acting and being myself. I just know this is the school for me. I’m in 9th grade right now but I’m going to push myself hard these next for years, gain my confidence and apply for Julliard.
Wow. That all looked so fun and rewarding. I'm introverted, but when I hit the stage, I love where I am and I feel comfortable, and really come out of my shell so to speak. Do you think Juilliard could still be the place for me though I'm shy?
A lot of actors and performers are more introverted or shy when they are not in the spotlight, so theater training could still be a great fit for you. The Juilliard acting program is really about you refining your own technique. Here's another video where alums talk about what the training did for them: ua-cam.com/video/R9VGNwW6Qf8/v-deo.html.
I'm the exact same way! the only problem is that sometimes I hold back in improv or other acting exercises just because it takes me a while to feel comfortable. But when I'm performing, all my anxiety goes away.
I'm only 11 but I really want to go there! I want to Just be a New Yorker, I want to live there, Be on Broadway, sing, I just love the feeling of waking up every morning with the sound of cars and beeping. My family knows I like singing but I just would love to go to my dream school. Singing is something I've wanted to do since forever! Living and doing something I love in m dream city would make me feel so alive and happy! I hope to be a legend and be free like the people who go here they are my inspirations. I've been begging my parents to let me visit NYC for a while I would just do anything to be able to go for just a day and see a Broadway show! The city is just something that is attached to me something I can never let go of.
I've always wanted to be a pianist but I am so concerned about what might happen in the future. I'm only 12 but I am scared that if I become a pianist, I would never make enough money to sustain myself. Many might prove me otherwise but that's my fear. I am currently part of the school's chorale but, I don't like to sing. I believe that you'll make an amazing singer but for me, I went there for the piano. I am so happy that there are so many people like us aspiring to be artists!!!
@@b.quinchana the thing is, when you get into a career in the arts, if you start with fear of failure, you're already at disadvantage, because you need stamina to endure the physical and psychological demands of it, it is not easy and You can't walk into it with hesitation.
I will work hard and make it in. This is my dream school, passion, and path to the career I want to take. This school is beautiful inside and out and the opportunities shown in this video just gives anyone more reasoning on why you should apply! Nothing has called out more to me than acting and this video just makes me feel all types of emotions. Joy, excitement, fear, and readiness on what's to come and the handwork and dedication I will put in to get into drama at Juilliard.
That just makes me want to chase my dream and aplly to Juilliard. Man I was smiling so widely while watching this...Drama class is just...wow...I know why he talks with such passion in his eyes. I can feel it too.
having classes with Julliette for three weeks she is amazing, seeing her in this video just blows my mind, dreaming touching ur dreams then feeling their possibility 😍
The Juilliard is one of the best acting schools in the states. If you learn from the best you will get the best. It's hard work and a bit of talent... Wonderful input! Thanx!
This is 100% my dream school, I'm currently doing Gsa and I know what I'm passionate about and I'm ready to dive deeper into this beautiful career. It would be a dream to study with these amazing people.
Watching this is both inspiring and sad. Inspiring because acting and drama are some of the most beautiful facets of the world and becoming an actor and receiving any form of success and recognition is a privilege and achievement in itself. It’s sad because getting accepted into an intensive conservatory like this and even eventually getting any form of golden opportunities as an actor is tough. It’s one of the most beautiful yet fiercely competitive professions in the world!
I was forced to pick a college in freshman year to “plan” to go to. I chose Juilliard knowing I love acting and New York- since then, Juilliard is the only school I think about when someone asks me what I want to do after high school. Granted, I have a couple more years left until then, but when I do apply, I pray I get in.
Some people may not believe in me including some members of my own family, but I believe in me and I will make it to Julliard. Do or do not, there is no try. And I will do it! Acting is the way I Express myself and I want to do it at Julliard. I know it's gonna be hard, but it's Worth it. I love Julliard !! Thanks for this video
This video sums up my dreams. doing what I’ve been passionate about since I was 9, all day almost everyday. it’s so amazing and the atmosphere just fills me up with motivation and energy
wow i'm inspired. Drama schools auditions coming up in a couple months, I will make it. Good luck to everyone else auditioning and if you're unsure about pursuing a career in performing arts, if it lights your soul on fire, just do it.

I’m only a freshman in high school and acting has a place in my heart ever since I was little my parents would ask me what I want to be and I would always tell them acting they don’t support me all the way because it’s a really hard career and I know that but sometimes you just know that you belong and that you know who you are. I look at movie plays tv shows and I see what there doing and I know that that’s where I wanna be. Every day till I get to the point for college I’m going to keep doing what I do but I know that I’ll audition for Juilliard even if it’s so so far from my home Texas. And out of all those people that Audition each year you never know because they have just the amount of chance as you do so now you just have to prove to them why you’re there and what makes you special you have to stand out and make them remember you. Because at the end of the day you’ll have given your audition the best and you should walk out proud. See you in 4 to 5 years Juilliard meanwhile I’ll keep acting

Kynnadea Sloan I know this reply is late, but if you want to be prepared for college and the future, I would recommend to start studying now, for example, go to your local library and get books about acting and singing. Also maybe get a vocal coach or get singing lessons. Maybe join theatre groups as well :)

WE ARE OUT HERE IN BOTSWANA, AFRICA WITH DJ AND JULIETTE, AMANDA, MILES AND HANNAH. THE WORKSHOP STARTED WELL. SEEING THEM IN THIS VIDEO MOTIVATES ME EVEN MORE TO WANNA COME STUDY MY MFA IN JUILLIARD. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO.
You're welcome. We hope to see you here in New York - and don't hesitate to contact our admissions team if you have questions: dramaadmissions@juilliard.edu.
Hi Juilliard I’m currently 13 and I’ve known about Juilliard for a while but my name is Adrian Forister and I really want to apply here when I’m older. I love to sing and act. And I know Juilliard can help me to pursue this dream of mine. Me and my friend Amelie hope to come here when we’re older. We both just stared lead roles in our middle school drama play. In front of over 400 people. She’s done a high school play and I am also in band so we’ve both performed in front of big crowds. And we both are ready to rock the stage when we audition!
This is so crazy, because all the classes he takes here are the things I absolutely LIVED FOR in school and in my mind. I always loved any opportunity to get outside of myself. Perhaps act a little silly. To me, it seems like playing games all day, but of course it's Juilliard, so you take your games very seriously...but to me, this stuff is all just great fun. Or at least it looks like it.
My dad isn’t very supportive. I love art and and I love expressing myself through my creativity and ability to think outside of the box. He wants me to go to Columbia University and I know they have some programs there but I want to be surrounded by people like me. I want to be surrounded by people reaching for the same goal and dream as me. I don’t know what to do anymore but all I know is that art and drama and music is my life and wherever I go, I will make the best out of it.
Thank you for such a thorough break down of the schedule! I’m applying this year for my MFA! I’ve heard there are also rehearsals on Saturdays. I was wondering what the Saturday schedule is like. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the comment and for applying! Our drama admissions team (dramaadmissions@juilliard.edu) will be able to give a more specific breakdown of the schedule, but there is generally a rehearsal scheduled on Saturday afternoons.
I graduated high school last year, I did two drama classes, school drama production and an external drama production. This year I ve done nothing drama related and I miss it so much. I miss my tight knit classes and the laughs we would share and the different exercises that you then get to see how they apply to improving a scene. Honestly the only thing I miss about high school was that. Might look into uni’s but I’m just too impatient. I just wanna act, forever honestly.
I love juliard. Juliard is my dream school. I am a total preforming artist. To pursue my dream of dancing here is a dream come true. Juliard is the #1 preforming arts school in the us.
This is a very insight and informative video about The Julliard school. I always dreamed of seeing myself on a film set, but I'm more into being behind the camera then in front of the camera. I also always dreamed of myself playing as an extra in a film. I would never desire to become a lead actress or a supporting actress in anyway, shape, or form because there's plenty of responsibility and pressure that comes with it.
We look forward to your application! If you have any questions, you can always email dramaadmissions@juilliard.edu and they can help you with any questions as you get closer to being able to apply.
I am torn between Juilliard's drama program or their music music. On one hand I love drama and have wanted to be an actress ever since I was little, but on the other I love playing my clarinet and everyone thinks I have a shot at it for music. Even though im nowhere near 18 or 19 I still think about it a lot, it might be my favorite thing to do besides practicing.
Thanks for watching! That's awesome that you can explore both of your passions. There's no reason to limit yourself right now. As you get closer to finishing high school, having experience in both will help you hone in on what you'd like to study in college.
I'm only 11 but I would love to go to Julliard. I love drama and singing. The only problem is I am super far away. I also know that it is super hard to get into. I am also not the best actress but I wish I was better
Start now while you're still young! If you have time, find a local theatre company that you could participate in, get into your school theatre productions. If you have the financials, see of you could enroll in voice lessons! If not, there's thousands of online teachings and great people on UA-cam you can start with. Don't let this chance slip!
I can’t stop thinking about how Adam Driver was discharged from military service and just joined Juilliard. Like he left the marines and was like “okay, what do I do next...? Oh, I know, I’ll apply to Juilliard again.”
I really love to get into this school and I am a very motivated young man. I want to gain any skills of acting, to become an awesome actor! But...this Juilliard school's acting tuitions are too expensive for me...🤷🤷🤷🤦
Thanks for watching! Check out our admissions playlist, which has a lot of videos about all aspects of the audition process: ua-cam.com/play/PLd2lYJmTbj9qGssg7SDLwk-U6PvTPGO1C.html. Hi , I'm 11 years old and my dream is to live as a musical start / actress. I just really want to be in the theatre and this video gave a bit of a hint too me about it so thank you
Each drama school is different, but here are the list of attributes that the Juilliard Drama Division is looking for when evaluating acting applicants: - A serious commitment to an acting career in the professional theater - A potential for vital, individualistic, trainable growth-regarded as more important than the applicant’s present state of technical accomplishment - Energy, openness of mind, enthusiasm, and a readiness to take risks - A body, voice, and imaginative/emotional powers promising significant dramatic development - A generosity of spirit essential to ensemble playing - A sense of humor, a sense of language, a sense of rhythm, and a capacity for sustained concentration - A readiness for hard, rigorous work Applicants need to prepare four memorized monologues (two classical and two contemporary) for their audition--about two minutes each in length. One of the classical selections must be from Shakespeare. To learn more about the audition process, you can visit our Drama admissions page: www.juilliard.edu/arm/drama/college/acting/bachelor-fine-arts.
Does Julliard also offer courses for Musical acting? And do you guys take international students/ offer part-time or full-time scholarships to students? I'm from Germany and being in this school is my dream.
We don't specifically offer a degree in musical theater, but our acting students receive extensive training in singing and movement. We do offer financial aid to international students -- you can read more about the financial aid process and forms required for international students here: www.juilliard.edu/campus-life/financial-aid.

It looks truly joyful to be a student at Juilliard!!! ❤️
This was absolutely amazing. Gave me a few ideas for my students!
Thank you for watching! Seeing our students and faculty at work is so inspiring to us too.
I'm only a sophomore and I been obsessed with juilliard and New York! I will get there one day!!!!
I am so excited to apply. I am hoping and praying that I may get in.. Julliard is a dream for me and I hope I get there. :)
I hope all goes well for him. He deserves everything
I’m 14 and I want to go to Juilliard and follow my dreams of becoming an actor
We look forward to your application! If you have any questions, you can always email dramaadmissions@juilliard.edu and they can help you with any questions as you get closer to being able to apply.
me too, but for me it is more difficult because I am Brazilian ..but I will not give up, very lucky for you
I am torn between Juilliard's drama program or their music music.
Follow your heart.
I would try and audition for both! The right choice may choose you!
Elizabeth Chamberlain you're only allowed to audition for one departmnt
do what you love hon
That lorenzo guy is going to go far
This video makes me want to better myself so maybe I could go to this school and experience this
Love this!
I've been waiting for this!!
Zoe Thank you so much for that information😀👍
I'm going to this school next fall. Just wait for me next year.
I can’t stop thinking about how Adam Driver was discharged from military service and just joined Juilliard. Like he left the marines and was like “okay, what do I do next...? Oh, I know, I’ll apply to Juilliard again.”
I shared this on all my SM🎙It reached in and let me in skillfully & Thank you for sharing your Julliard with us❤❤❤
Thank YOU for sharing!
FINALLY
By popular demand!
Cindy KNOWS Like, WAITING for this video to come out!!
I really love to get into this school and I am a very motivated young man. I want to gain any skills of acting, to become an awesome actor! But...this Juilliard school's acting tuitions are too expensive for me...🤷🤷🤷🤦

I would love to see a video about how auditions work for Juilliard, and what experience you expect. I hope to go here someday.

Thank you for watching!
The Juilliard School it would be great if you answered this , what do you have to do to get into any drama school?
Each drama school is different, but here are the list of attributes that the Juilliard Drama Division is looking for when evaluating acting applicants:
- A serious commitment to an acting career in the professional theater
- A potential for vital, individualistic, trainable growth-regarded as more important than the applicant’s present state of technical accomplishment
- Energy, openness of mind, enthusiasm, and a readiness to take risks
- A body, voice, and imaginative/emotional powers promising significant dramatic development
- A generosity of spirit essential to ensemble playing
- A sense of humor, a sense of language, a sense of rhythm, and a capacity for sustained concentration
- A readiness for hard, rigorous work
Applicants need to prepare four memorized monologues (two classical and two contemporary) for their audition--about two minutes each in length. One of the classical selections must be from Shakespeare. To learn more about the audition process, you can visit our Drama admissions page: www.juilliard.edu/arm/drama/college/acting/bachelor-fine-arts.
is it hard to get in there? for a studen in europe
not gonna lie at first i thought this was a full length video on beef among students at julliard
I’ve never wanted to go to a place so much I wanna be an actor so badly and I’m so drawn to New York just ugh I wanna be there
ArtsEd is like the next best thing for me
Does Julliard also offer courses for Musical acting? And do you guys take international students/ offer part-time or full-time scholarships to students? I'm from Germany and being in this school is my dream.
We don't specifically offer a degree in musical theater, but our acting students receive extensive training in singing and movement. We do offer financial aid to international students -- you can read more about the financial aid process and forms required for international students here: www.juilliard.edu/campus-life/financial-aid.
I'm in 6th grade and I am an aspiring actor, Juliard is my dream school and my biggest goal is to attend.
Looks like a great school. Truly.
Julliard is my dream school, I almost cried watching this. Ughh I wish I had what it takes to make it there💔
